Canadian rapper Tory Lanez is reportedly recovering after a violent attack left him in critical condition behind bars.
The rapper was allegedly stabbed 14 times by another inmate inside a prison housing unit, according to a statement released by his team on Instagram.
The shocking incident left Lanez with seven stab wounds to his back, four to his torso, two to the back of his head, and one on the left side of his face.
Both of his lungs collapsed, and he was placed on a breathing machine. Fortunately, he is now breathing unaided and steadily regaining strength.
The statement read:
“Tory was stabbed 14 times including 7 wounds to his back, 4 to his torso, 2 to the back of his head, and 1 to the left side of his face. Both of his lungs collapsed, and he was placed on a breathing apparatus. He is now breathing on his own.”

According to TMZ, prison staff rushed to the scene, performed immediate first aid, and called emergency responders. Lanez was transported to a hospital outside the prison for advanced medical treatment.
Fans breathed a sigh of relief after hearing that he is pulling through. Despite the severity of his injuries, sources close to him say he remains in good spirits, is speaking normally, and feels grateful to God for surviving the ordeal. He has also expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support and prayers from his fans.
As of now, the motive behind the stabbing remains unclear. Prison authorities have not yet released details about the attacker or whether any charges have been filed.
