One of Nigeria’s finest Afrobeat legends Wizkid has no doubt been consistent in changing the status quo of the music industry and making Nigeria proud with his music.
The father of three has been selling out international concerts and getting nominations for international awards as well as winning them.
Mp3bullet has decided to put together a list of the singer’s achievements in 2020 so far.
Grammy nomination:
Wizkid has happened to be on the Grammy Awards nomination list for the second time.
The first being his appearance on Drake’s album with the collaboration “One Dance”, in 2016.
However, the 2021 Grammy Awards nomination for the singer is his feature in Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl song”. The song’s video is nominated for Best Music Video.
MOBO Awards:
The 2020 edition of Music of Black Origin Awards “MOBO” was streamed live on YouTube on the 9th December. This is the fourth time Wizkid wins MOBO Awards.
Wizkid was named the Best African Act. So far, he has won the MOBO “Best African Act” and “Best International Act” Award at different times.

BET Soul Train Music Awards:
The “Soul Train Awards” celebrated the best in hip-hop, R&B and soul by highlighting living legends with unrivaled musical moments and groudbreaking performances.
However, the 2020 edition makes it the second time Starboy is wining the Soul Train Awards.
The Music video of “Brown Skin Girl”, by Beyonce featuring Wizkid won the Best Video of the Year.
In 2019, Wizkid won the Ashford & Simpson’s Songwriter’s Award, making him the first Nigerian to win the award
BreakTudo Awards:
Earlier this year, Wizkid was nominated in the category of ‘best global Artiste’ at the Breaktudo 2020 awards.
The Brazilian awards is the artiste’s first nomination of the year, coming off the back of his trending single – ‘Smile ft H.E.R.
Headies Awards Nomination:
Wizkid is one of the few artistes who have had more than one nomination, in this forth coming Headies Awards.
The award is set to take place at Eko Convention Centre, VI Lagos in January, 2021.
