    The 28-year-old Nigerian superstar has come a long way since he gained prominence in the music industry with his hit song, Dami Duro.

    Mp3bullet has piled up a notable list of the singer’s achievements in 2020.

    Soundcity MVP Awards:

    Earlier this year on Saturday, January 11, 2020, Davido was nominated along side Mr Eazi, Kizz Daniel, Caspper Nyovest, and Diamod Platnumz for the Digital Artiste of the Year, and topped the league by winning the award.

    Other categories the singer was nominated for are;

    • African Artiste of the Year
    • Best Collaboration
    • Best male MVP

    ‘Fall’ Certified Gold in USA and Canada:

    It is safe to say ‘Fall’ is one of Davido’s greatest hit songs that has been making waves and headlines since it’s release date.

    Released about three years ago on June 2, 2017, the song has continued to break records.

    However, the singer announced around May 2020, that his song ‘Fall’ became gold certified in the USA, this came days after the song was certified gold in Canada.

    The 28-year-old made this known on his Instagram page.

    He wrote, “I PREDICTED THIS COUPLE DAYS AGO !…..!! FALL IS NOW CERTIFIED GOLD IN THE ‘USA !!!!! THEY LAUGHED AT ME BUT I DID IT FIRST !!”

     Fall, was released as the second single from Davido’s second studio album, A Good Time, and was produced by Kiddominant.

    The music video for ‘Fall’ became the most streamed on YouTube back in 2018, and it currently stands at over 190million views on the video platform.

    To be certified gold means over 500,000 units for albums and one million for singles.

    A Better Time (ABT) Album:

    Much fanfare and excitement filled the air when Davido released his third studio album A Better Time (ABT) on November13, 2020.

    “ABT” was a globally accepted album from the battalion of fans the living legend has.

    Prior to it’s release date, the singer’s previous album ‘A Good Time’ hit a billion streams after eight month of it’s release.

    Few days after the release of A Better Time, the album debuted at 170 on the Billboard 200  album chart and this became the singer’s first-ever album to debut on the US Official chart.
    So far, four songs from the 17track album have been on The Top Thriller Global Chart.
    • ‘FEM’ peaked at no3 on September 26 and spent 7 weeks on the chart.
    • ‘The Best’ peaked at no7, his feature with Mayorkun.
    • ‘Holy Ground’ peaked at no13, his feature with Nicki Minaj. 
    • His duo with Mayorkun ‘Betty Butter’ peaked at no2.

    MTV Awards nomination 2021:

    MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) will take place in Kampala Uganda, on February 20, 2021.

    Davido has been nominated for the Artist of the Year award, along side Burna Boy and  Wizkid.

    Headies Awards nomination 2020:

    Nigerian stars like Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy have had plenty nominations for this year’s Headies Awards which will hold on January, 2021.
