As much as we love Wizkid, Davido, and the rest, these New school artists are currently attracting our attention and we can’t help it. In terms of vocals, catchy lyrics, and the hit singles that they keep releasing, what’s there to hate about them.

    T-Classic

With his a signature intro line, twenty tow year T-Classic came into the music scene in 2016. His collaboration with Mayorkun, “Fall in Love” set his career rolling but it was his “Nobody fine pass you” that brought him the deserved attention.

In the month of February, Sony Music West Africa announced the singer as one of its artistes. He released his debut EP, “Underrated” two weeks after joining the Label.

    Tems

Tems is a female singer with strong vocals that are intimidating but yet soothing. her 2019 hit single, “Try Me” established the newcomer as a promising artist to watch out for.

American singer, Khalid featured her and Davido in the remix of his song, “Know your worth” and she didn’t disappoint. She recently released a new single “These Days” during the lockdown.

    Joeboy

Joeboy was one of the lucky artists that were selected and funded by Mr Eazi talent factory, Empawa”. Joeboy breakout hit single, “Baby” brought the much-needed spotlight he needed and from there, he went on to produce hits like “Begining”, “Call”, “All for you”, “Don’t call me back”.

His recent feature in DJ Neptune‘s “Nobody’ saw him topping charts alongside his mentor, Mr Eazi.

    Rema

Rema had started doing music from a very tender age though most of it were mostly gospel music, with a blend of trap. He attracted the attention of D’prince after his cover of D’prince‘s Gucci Gang went viral.

He got signed into Jonzing Records a subsidiary of Mavin Records but has managed to steal the spotlight from Mavin records’s main artistes like Dr Sid, Korede Bello.

The Youngster has managed to pull so much influence within two years of being signed to Mavin Records that he is now regarded as the next D’banj of Mo’hits.

He has a large fanbase called the “Ravers”, had one of his songs listed on Barack Obama’s playlist of 2019, also featured on American actress, Halle Berry’s playlist, got a shoutout from Drake and had Rihanna dance to his song, Dumebi. No other new school artist in this list has been able to pull such a feat in such a short time.

    Fireboy DML

Fireboy came into the music scene with “Jealous” and since then, we can’t have enough of him. Fireboy is currently signed to YBNL which is owned by Nigerian rapper, Olamide.

His debut album, “laughter, Tears, and Goosebumps” was released on 29 November 2019 with no guest artist feature and amassed over 6 million streams on Spotify three days after its release.

Fireboy’s discography includes “What if I say”, “Like I do”, “I Feel”, “Energy”, “Scatter, “Vibration” amongst others.
