These are the top 10 Rema’s songs that crown him the prince of afrobeats

Rema has been in the industry for not too long but he’s moving at a very high pace and here are the top 10 Rema’s songs that crown him the prince of afrobeats.

For three years now, Rema has done quite a lot, released a lot of music, five projects (3 EPs, a compilation album, and the studio album), music videos, and has made a name for himself in this industry.

Today, he’s like the leader of the new school. He’s one of the new crops of artists set to take over the race from the top guys like Wizkid and Davido who are fast running out of space to operate.

Rema has it all. A record deal, a huge following, and most importantly, unique talent and skill. Nobody can do what he does quite like him. That’s what has kept him on top of his game for three years now.

Here is a list of what we reckon are Rema’s Top 10 Songs to date.

    1. Iron Man

The song that brought about the Wizkid comparison back in 2019, “Iron Man” is one of Rema’s breakthrough hits.

That year, the song was on Obama’s playlist and the song was a commercial success. It’s also what many fans believe is the beginning of the “Indian melody” trend in Nigerian music.

    2. Dumebi

In many ways, “Dumebi” was his first official hit single and it was madness in 2019.

The song that later got a remix with Becky G, is one of Rema’s most played songs till now and that says something.

    3. Beamer (Bad Boys)

Released in 2020, “Beamer” showed another side of Rema; the dancehall Rema that many people didn’t know existed.

Besides being a big hit in the country, “Beamer” is also one of Rema’s standout records, in that it doesn’t sound like most of his other songs.

    4. Soundgasm

This song, released in 2021, once again brought about the Wizkid comparison because Rema didn’t hold back on it at all.

The young boy channelled his inner Wizkid and created a song like “Fever” on what became the first single from his album.

    5. Bounce

His only song produced by Don Jazzy, “Bounce” is one of those songs that should have been on his album for real.

Something about “Bounce” screams Mo’hits and for the first time, Rema sounded like a real Don Jazzy protege. Someone who could pick up from where D’banj left off.

    6. Peace of Mind

This is the most sensible Rema song of all time and it is a big disappointment that it didn’t make the album.

“Peace of Mind” is one of the few Rema songs that’s not about yansh or women, and it blew people’s minds because who would have thought our very own Rema could be such a pastor?

    7. JAE5 — Dimension

Another song that is like “Peace of Mind,” although this song is not his, he took the most important part of it while Skepta did a verse.

Many people have said it’s not possible that Rema is the same person that wrote the lyrics for “Dimension” but I have it on good authority that he is the one. A song like this tells us Rema can be a good lyricist when he wants to.

    8. Mavin — All Is In Order

Released way back in 2019 at the beginning of Rema’s career, “All Is In Order” is the one track that has both Rema and Don Jazzy singing.

Don Baba J did the chorus and Rema did a verse alongside Korede Bello and Crayon. This song is a very important one in Rema’s discography and it’s one of the few songs where Rema actually spoke Yoruba.

    9. FYN ft. AJ Tracey

Well, this song really just tells us that Rema can do proper collaborations if he wants to. It’s a good thing. If he can blend in with a grime rapper, well who can’t he blend in with?

    10. DJ Neptune — For You

This is the closest Rema has come to showing that he could do what the old guys did back in the day because the tempo of the track was just unreal.

Seriously, “For You” has the kind of beat that so many new school artists will not dare jump on and Rema killed it. What more does he have to do to prove himself?
