True fans know a hip-hop lover, as he has mentioned numerous times that he began his musical career as a rapper before transitioning to signing.
The music master even made an appearance on famed disc jockey Jimmy Jatt’s premier rap show, ‘Jimmy’s Jump Off,’ where he dropped some bars.
While its not clear when Wizkid’s love for rap began to wax cold, his songs and career have been heavily impacted by the genre.

Mp3bullet.ng put together a list of times Wizkid gave mindblowing performances on rap songs.
Skepta ft. Wizkid- Energy
Together with Nigerian-British rapper Skepta, Big Wiz produced a spectacular hook for Big Chief Skep’s song “Energy,” as though their respective energies were drawn to one another.
It is interesting to note that the rap song was produced by renowned Nigerian producer Sarz, who also contributed to the song’s success.
Blown both in the UK and Nigeria, this is arguably one of the Wizkid-influenced rap songs that Nigerians actually know the rap lyrics, not to mention the brilliant hook from him.
M.I Abaga Ft Wizkid – Fast Cars
The youthful Wizkid made his name known with his performance on this song, which was released way back in 2008.
Off M.I Abaga’s breakout album Talk About It, the youthful Wizkid demonstrated his skill on the song, leaving no doubt in the hearts of those who cared to listen.
Wizkid unquestionably received the necessary industry attention thanks to the song. Absolute Classic!
Emtee ft Wizkid & AKA – Roll Up
A true hip-hop track from the trap genre. Wizkid and fellow South African rapper AKA were featured by the artist Emtee on the song Roll Up, and Wizkid once again did not disappoint.
Big Wiz did a great job with his verse on the trap tune. He made it his own, undoubtedly introducing the song to a Nigerian audience. Without a doubt, one of the best Wizkid features!
Tinie Tempah ft. Wizkid – Mamacita
Starring on this collaboration with British rapper Tinie Tempah (who is of Nigerian descent) once again confirmed that “Wizkid lon help awon rappers yi (Wizkid helps all these rappers).
Star Boy gave a standout performance on the rap song with a Caribbean influence and further cemented his inclusion in the song with a hot verse.
Jesse Jagz ft. Wizkid – Bad Girl
While this is debatable, it is common knowledge that Emperor Jaga, better known by his stage name Jesse Jagz, is one of the greatest rappers in Nigerian music history and is constantly highly conscious of his features.
Therefore, the fact that Wizkid is included in a song just serves to further support the claim that he can blend in with any genre.
The mid-tempo afro-ragga rap song ‘Bad Girl‘ saw Wizkid give one of his best hooks as an artist and it was delivered perfectly.
Olamide ft Wizkid, ID Cabasa – Totori
Olamide and Wizkid have established their musical compatibility over time.
Due to this, many people knew a hit song was forthcoming when they announced their collaboration, especially given that it was being produced by seasoned producer ID Cabasa.
Wizzy once again delivered his hook on a mid-tempo afro-fused rap tune, making him a rapper’s best friend in need of a “hit” song.
Reminisce ft. Wizkid – Eleniyan
Being a perfect musical chameleon that can be trusted on for any style of song, the Wizkid brand is lovely in that it can easily integrate into the “tush” and “local” context. Wiz once again delivered on the groove with Reminisce, one of Nigeria’s top rappers.
Reminisce remarked in the song’s opening lyrics that there was no way he would get it wrong because Wizkid was featured, demonstrating how certain he was that Wiz would deliver on the track.
CDQ ft Wizkid – Nowo E Soke
Wizkid breathed more life into the already grooving Masterkraft-produced rhythm. Undoubtedly a smash in the clubs, Wizkid gave a fantastic performance on CDQ’s “Nowo e soke.”
Phenom ft Wizkid – Murda Dem (Remix)
Collaboration on a hip-hop song with one of the dopest Nigerian rappers at the time, Phenom, culminated in the blockbuster track Murda Dem. The song, which was produced by Legendary Beatz, is, in my opinion, undervalued. Big Wiz really shined on this song, and that’s on period!

Young Jeezy ft Wizkid & Trey Song – Good Life
Wizkid deservedly appeared on a song owned by American veteran rapper Jeezy when it was released in 2017, at a period when the Wizkid movement was slowly but surely entering the American market. He delivered a calming hook that was so slick you would have mistaken him for an American musician.
Trey Songz, a well-known American singer, also appeared in the song “Good Life,” but Wizkid did not get lost in the mix. He did a great job of holding his ground.
