Tiwa Savage Talks on Industry Favours, Balancing Stardom & Motherhood
In a candid recent interview with The Beat 99.9 FM, Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage shared insights that suggest the Nigerian music industry might have its version of America’s Sean “Diddy“ Combs. Known as a successful executive, Diddy has faced numerous allegations over time, including serious accusations of sex trafficking, which he has since denied.
Tiwa hinted at parallels within the Nigerian scene, subtly addressing the often whispered-about practice of trading favors in the industry.
This revelation comes amid Diddy’s high-profile legal troubles, including allegations of sex trafficking and conspiracy. Earlier in March, a raid on his Beverly Hills mansion reportedly uncovered an assortment of seized items meant for alleged “freak offs,” an operation that has further drawn attention to the music mogul’s controversial reputation.
Despite the media storm surrounding Diddy, Tiwa focuses on her music and family. Currently preparing for a new album set to drop in 2025, she is promoting her latest single, Forgiveness, which follows the success of her Water & Garri project. In a heartfelt conversation with media personality Tacha on COOL FM’s The Big Friday Show, Tiwa opened up about the balance between being an internationally recognized artist and a devoted single mother.
Reflecting on the support she relies on to raise her son, Jamil, Tiwa spoke about her family and dedicated nanny. “It truly takes a village,” she said. “As a single mom, my mum has been my rock, and our nanny has been with us since Jamil was just three months old. Now that he’s nine, she’s practically family.”
As Tiwa continues to navigate the demands of her career and motherhood, her resilience and honesty resonate with fans, further solidifying her status as one of Afrobeats’ leading women.
