Nigerian singer and self-proclaimed Queen of Afrobeat, Tiwa Savage, has candidly spoken about her personal struggles with trust, boundaries, and friendships, offering fans a more intimate look into her life beyond the spotlight.

Reflecting on the lessons she has picked up over the years, the award-winning artiste admitted that her naturally open and trusting personality has, at times, worked to her disadvantage.

In a recent conversation with content creator Korty, Tiwa revealed that she tends to trust people easily and is often transparent with those around her, even when it comes to her private spaces.

The singer explained that she has always been comfortable letting people into her personal world, noting that she rarely keeps emotional or physical distance from friends she genuinely cares about. According to her, this openness is simply part of who she is.

“I trust people easily. I am very trusting in my home; I am very open. I am an open book,” she said.

Tiwa went on to share that her welcoming nature extends beyond casual interactions, adding that she often has no issue accommodating friends, even while travelling.

“I could be in my hotel, and if you are my friend and you want to stay over, you are welcome. That is how open I am,” she added.

However, the music star admitted that such openness has not come without consequences. She revealed that learning to set boundaries has been a difficult but necessary process, one that has unfortunately resulted in the loss of some relationships.

“I am too trusting, maybe. I am learning about boundaries. Once you start setting boundaries, you lose people,” she said.

Tiwa also stressed that drawing these boundaries has become even more crucial since becoming a mother, as she now has more than just herself to protect.

“I am learning how important it is to set boundaries for the safety of my son as well,” she stated.

Her honest reflections have resonated with many fans, highlighting the often unseen emotional work that comes with growth, fame, and motherhood.
