Timaya’s ‘Gladiator’ album gets new release date
Nigerian dancehall legend Timaya is set to release a new album, but fans will have to wait a bit longer for his highly anticipated album, “Gladiator.” Originally scheduled to drop today, Friday, June 21st, the release date has been pushed back to July 12th. While the reason for the delay hasn’t been officially announced, the wait promises to be worthwhile.
“Gladiator” already appears to be a powerful collection of tracks, building on the success of the lead single “Cold Outside” featuring BNXN, and this year’s infectious collaboration with Tiwa Savage, “In My Head.”
This year, Timaya celebrates nearly two decades on stage. He has been a significant figure in popularizing his style of Afrobeats, which has influenced artists like Yemi Alade and Gucci.

He concluded by expressing his admiration for Davido’s talent and work ethic, stating, “Just look at someone like Davido, you think Davido because his father has money? there are lots of people their fathers have money but they don’t do it like Davido, I love that young man because he’s so talented”.
