Former Arsenal Midfielder Thomas Partey Charged with Multiple Sexual Offences in the United Kingdom

Former Arsenal and Ghanaian international footballer Thomas Partey has been formally charged with multiple sexual offences by the Metropolitan Police Service following an extensive investigation.
On Friday, July 4, 2025, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) authorized the charges after reviewing evidence submitted by detectives. In an official statement, the CPS confirmed:
“The Crown Prosecution Service has authorised the Metropolitan Police Service to charge a man after a file of evidence was submitted by detectives.”
The Met has since issued a charge and requisition to Partey, 32, of Hertfordshire, who now faces a total of six charges, including five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The alleged incidents reportedly occurred between 2021 and 2022.
Partey, a high-profile figure in English football during his time at Arsenal and a key player for the Ghanaian national team, will now face legal proceedings under UK criminal law.
At this time, neither Partey nor his legal team have issued any public response to the charges. Authorities are reminding the public that he is presumed innocent until proven guilty and have urged media outlets and social commentators to respect the legal process and refrain from speculation.
The case is expected to draw significant attention as it moves through the courts, given the player’s prominence and the serious nature of the allegations.
