D’banj & Don Jazzy evoke nostalgia in announcement video for ‘Entertainer 2.0‘
D’banj and Don Jazzy are stirring up nostalgia with the announcement of D’banj’s upcoming fifth album, “Entertainer – The Sequel.”
This highly anticipated project is a follow-up to D’banj’s classic 2008 album, “The Entertainer,” which featured some of the songs that catapulted him to superstar status.
The announcement came in a video featuring actor Gideon Okeke and a cameo by long-time collaborator and Mo’Hits co-founder, Don Jazzy. The clip has already generated excitement, rekindling memories of the duo’s past successes.
For “Entertainer – The Sequel,” D’banj has assembled an impressive lineup of global stars, including Grammy award winner Wyclef Jean, Congolese icon Awilo Logomba, Senegalese music legend Youssou N’Dour, American superstar Akon, South African megastar DJ Maphorisa, and Chechi Sarai from NBC’s “The Voice.”

The album also features collaborations with prominent Nigerian artists such as Phyno, Timaya, Kayswitch, Zlatan, Peruzzi, Bhadboi Oml, and Chuchu Lee.
Ahead of the album’s release, D’banj has dropped a new single titled “Worthy,” featuring Youssou N’Dour and Chechi Sarai, which was released on July 19. This track offers a glimpse into what fans can expect from the album.
Expressing his excitement about the project, D’banj shared, “Life is a maze of self-discovery, and my new album, “Entertainer – The Sequel,” confirms this truth to me. It’s a true reflection of my growth as an artist and my continued commitment to pushing the boundaries of African music. Following the album’s release, D’banj is set to embark on a global tour, visiting major cities in partnership with The Temple Company.
