Singer Teni laments overlack of beef among female singers
Nigerian artist Teni humorously took to social media to lament the peace and lack of drama among female singers in the industry. On August 15, 2024, Teni posted a video on Instagram, playfully urging her female colleagues to stir things up a bit, much like their male counterparts.
In the video, she said, “I have said it before and I will say it again. This female industry is too boring, it’s too boring! Tell me why Tems and Ayra Starr can’t look at each other and say, ‘Your papa, your papa papa.'”
Teni jokingly encouraged her fellow female artists to add some drama to the music scene, with the possibility of collaborating afterward.
“Why can’t I just see Tiwa Savage and say, ‘Wetin dey do you?’ Don’t we see what’s happening on the other side? Everyone here is just doing love songs. Sometimes I feel like giving Yemi Alade a headbutt, so we can see ourselves outside and let security separate us,” she added with a laugh.
Teni concluded by saying, “Let’s spice this thing up and then collaborate later. Fighting doesn’t mean we won’t work together afterward, but let’s give them a proper action film in this music industry. I dey tell you, let’s give them drama.”
