Teni explains why she prostrated to greet IBD Dende on plane
Nigerian songstress Teni has provided clarification regarding her act of prostrating to greet Ibrahim Egungbohun Dende, also known as IBD Dende, a prominent businessman and socialite, during a recent encounter on a plane.
Previously, Teni faced criticism after she shared a video of herself showing respect to IBD Dende on a flight, posted via her social media handle on Friday. Many online commentators condemned her for associating with IBD Dende in light of smuggling accusations against him.

In response, Teni addressed the matter on Sunday morning, explaining that she was unaware of any criminal allegations against IBD Dende. She recounted an instance of his kindness towards her back in 2014, even before her rise to stardom, which led her to hold him in high regard ever since.
The ‘Askamaya‘ singer emphasized that she does not condone criminal activities or support individuals involved in such acts.
She wrote, “[I] Met IBD [Dende] in 2014 and he was so good to me, even before I blew up. So when[ever] I see him, it’s always love.
“I honestly had no knowledge of any criminal activities associated with him. I do not support criminals, so let the law take its course.”
