Teni claims her father was killed in her presence at the age of 2 (Video)
Popular Nigerian singer, Teniola Apata, professionally known as Teni, has made a revealing statement about her past.
During a guest appearance on the audio-visual podcast hosted by media personality Taymesan, Teni shared a deeply personal and tragic experience from her childhood.
Teni disclosed that when she was just two years old, gunmen invaded their Lagos home and tragically killed her father, Brig. Gen. Simeon Apata (retd.), right in front of her and her family. This traumatic event had a profound impact on her upbringing, causing her to develop trust issues.
In the interview, shared Sunday by the host Taymesan on Instagram, Teni said, “Growing up with my father passing at such a young age, the trauma of losing my father at a young age affected me.
“You know, him being assassinated in the presence of all of us and all that stuff. I was 2 at the time.
“Him passing away robbed me of a father figure. It sort of made me have trust issues growing up. Because they [gunmen] came into our house purposely to kill him.”
