Teni Apata, best known by her stage name Teni, has urged Nigerians to stop slut shaming women

Slut-shaming is the behaviour of criticising or insulting somebody, particularly women, for participating in sexual activities.

On Thursday, the ‘Hustle’ singer condemned the behaviour among Nigerians in a Twitter message.

The 29-year-old musician stated that having intercourse requires two individuals and that neither participant has the right to humiliate the other for it.

“No more f**k-shaming. You had sex with each other, why saying “I had sex with him/her”, you both had sex with each other,” she wrote in Pidgin.

No more fuck shaming, una fuck una sef, which one be sey “I don fuck am,” una don fuck una sef.

It remains to be seen if the post was triggered by a particular issue or if it was just a random opinion.

The talented vocalist gained prominence after her single ‘Fargin’ was released in September 2017.

She finally had her big break after putting out hit singles such as ‘Askamaya’, ‘Case’, and ‘Uyo Meyo’ in 2018.

Teni had earlier revealed that she opted for music after struggling to make people laugh as a master of ceremonies (MC).

In January, she was in the news over a gunshot incident at an event in Rivers state where she was invited to perform.
