Ten Hag praises Mount’s performance in Man Utd’s win over Leeds
Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has praised Mason Mount’s performance in his first game for the Red Devils.
Mount played for 45 minutes in Wednesday’s pre-season win against Leeds, marking his debut for the club following his transfer from Chelsea.
Ten Hag expressed his satisfaction with Mount’s performance, indicating that he was pleased with what he saw from his new recruit on the field.
In the friendly match held in Oslo, Manchester United fielded a relatively strong lineup in the first half, and Mount came close to scoring with a well-executed chip.
During the second half, Ten Hag made several changes to the lineup, and a youthful Manchester United side secured a 2-0 victory over Leeds, with goals scored by Noam Emeran and Joe Hugill.
Speaking to reporters after the game, ten Hag was asked to rate the £55million signing’s display, he replied, “Great. First time [in the team] but we could expect this.
“I think for him it’s just his first [step] because he has so much skills. I’m sure we will take so much joy from him and he will contribute to our performance absolutely.”
