Talented Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems spoke at the Global Citizen Festival in Ghana about why she consistently advocates for gender equality.
As fans cheered on, Tems was asked why she always promotes gender equality in her song and podcast by the hosts.
The singer, who is known for applauding her female coworkers, responded by stating that she advocates for gender equality because women do not receive enough opportunities.

She continued by saying that if she could provide more chances and opportunities for women, she would.
Tems who recently revealed her mum being attacked by robbers is the inspiration behind her ‘Mr Rebel’ song said:
“We don’t get enough chances. Women need more chances, women need more opportunities in this world. And if I can give it, why not.
“I feel if you love someone you show them off.
“And I want to show off every woman in this world because they deserve it”
Recall, Mp3bullet.ng reported that Tems was the latest guest of British GQ where she opened on intimate details of her life before and after fame. One subject she opened up on was her dating life.
The “Try me” singer admitted that she is not involved in a romantic relationship. She emphasised once more that since the release of her debut single, she has not been in a romantic relationship.
According to her, not being in a relationship is bother her choice and other external influences.
“Firstly, I don’t have any romantic relationships. I haven’t had a romantic relationship since I released my first song.” Is that a choice? “Um, yes and no,”
