This teaser follows her recent performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk, where she showcased ‘Unfortunate,’ another unreleased track from the forthcoming album.
Tems has been actively promoting her album, engaging in multiple interviews and media appearances. She recently had an in-depth, day-long interview with Nigerian YouTuber and content creator Korty EO, where she discussed her journey, personal experiences with love, fame, and success.
Tems explained that she sees love not as a blind emotion but as a conscious decision made with full awareness.
She emphasized that true love involves a deliberate choice to accept and embrace someone, flaws and all, rather than being swept away by infatuation.
“I haven’t been in love. Loving someone for me is more of ‘I see you and I still want to be in your life. Even though you annoy me sometimes, I choose you and I choose you.’ I would like to be in love, to experience something deep but really real not blind. I don’t believe that love is blind, I think if you really love someone you’re loving them with your eyes open.”
Additionally, Tems made a return appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, performing her latest single ‘Love Me Jeje.’
The album ‘Born In The Wild‘ features 18 songs, including two interludes on tracks 2 and 13, and boasts guest appearances from Nigerian superstar Asake and American rapper J Cole.
In a previous interview with Apple Music, Tems revealed that her debut album reflects the various experiences and stages of her life, showcasing her evolution into the artist she is today.
During an interview on the Flow With Korty show, the 28-year-old artist offered her thoughts on love, challenging the commonly held belief that “love is blind.”
