Nigerian R&B sensation Tems has made an impressive mark on the global music stage with three nominations at the upcoming 67th Grammy Awards, making her the most-nominated Nigerian artist for this year’s ceremony.
Her groundbreaking nominations include Best African Music Performance, Best Global Album, and Best R&B Song, highlighting her versatility and international appeal.
Tems’ debut album, Born in the Wild, earned a spot in the Best Global Album category, making her the first Nigerian female artist with a Grammy-nominated album.
Additionally, her hit single Burning made history as the first song by an African artist to receive a nomination in the R&B category, an achievement that elevates Tems as the first African female lead artist to be recognized outside the traditional global categories.
These achievements extend her record for the most Grammy nominations for a Nigerian female artist, bringing her career total to six.
With three nominations this year, Tems also ranks as the second Nigerian artist with the highest number of nominations in a single Grammy year, following Burna Boy’s four nominations at the 66th Grammys.
Tems’ Grammy nods continue to cement her status as a trailblazer, inspiring artists across Africa and setting new milestones for Nigerian music on the global scene.
