Tems’ “Love Me Jeje” featured On Barack Obama’s Summer Playlist
Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems continues to build on her impressive list of achievements, with her hit single “Love Me Jeje” earning a spot on former President Barack Obama’s highly anticipated summer playlist.
Every year, the former president shares a selection of songs he’s been enjoying, and for 2024, the list features two Nigerian stars: Rema and Tems.
It’s no surprise that “Love Me Jeje” by Tems made the cut, as she has been recognized as one of the most promising and inspiring artists over the past two years.
In previous years, Nigerian talents like Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Pheelz have also been featured on Obama’s playlist, and now Tems has once again secured her place among these esteemed artists.
Obama announced the playlist via his X handle, stating, “With summer winding down, I wanted to share some songs that I’ve been listening to lately – and it wouldn’t be my playlist if it didn’t include an eclectic mix. I hope you find something new to listen to!”
Obama’s playlist also features Charli XCX’s “365,” Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em,” Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby,” “Wanna Be” by Glorilla & Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish’s “CHIHIRO,” as well as classic tracks like 2Pac’s “How Do U Want It” featuring K-Ci & JoJo and Bob Dylan’s “Silvio.”
