Tems Hints That A ‘Born In The Wild (Deluxe)’ Might Be On The Way
Nigerian artist Tems has hinted at a possible deluxe edition of her album “Born In The Wild.” The album, which was released in June, received overwhelming praise from both fans and critics.
While still unveiling visual companions for the project, Tems suggested the potential for an expanded edition during her appearance on Kick Game’s “Shopping For Sneakers” on Sunday, September 1st.
In the interview with host Craig Mitch, Tems shared that she initially recorded 30 songs for “Born In The Wild” but ultimately trimmed it down to 18 tracks for the final release.
When asked about the possibility of a deluxe version of the album, she playfully responded, “It’s possible that it’s coming. I’m not confirming or denying.”
Tems also hinted at the inclusion of additional features that didn’t make it to the original album, saying, “There were more features, which I can’t say. It might still happen. That’s why I can’t say.
” However, she clarified that Future, with whom she previously collaborated on the 2022 hit “WAIT FOR U,” would not be part of the potential deluxe edition: “What? No. I really like Future. Future is one of the GOATs.”
“Born In The Wild” features collaborations with J. Cole and Asake on the tracks “Free Fall” and “Get it Right,” respectively.
The album also includes standout tracks like “Burning,” “Wickedest,” and “Unfortunate.” Tems described the inspiration behind the record, explaining, “All these guys [and] girls feel like you’re bad [and] heartbreakers. Everybody feels like they’re bad, but meanwhile, you’re actually unfortunate. You’re not bad. You’re unfortunate. It’s not a good thing to be with you.”
During the episode, Tems also shared some of her top sneaker picks, including the Air Jordan 4 Retro “Oxidized Green,” adidas Handball Spezial x Sporty & Rich “Auburn Gum,” and Stüssy x Nike Dunk Low Pro SB “Cherry.”
Tems is currently on the North American leg of her “Born In The Wild World Tour,” which began in August with performances in cities like Miami Beach, Orlando, Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta.
Throughout September, she will continue to perform in major cities such as Philadelphia, New York, Toronto, Boston, Montreal, Chicago, and Las Vegas. Starting in October, the tour will extend to Africa, Asia, and Australia, further solidifying her global presence.
