Tems Expands Her Women Empowerment Platform, Leading Vibe Initiative, to Kenya

Grammy-winning Nigerian star Tems is taking her vision for women in music across borders as she officially expands her Leading Vibe Initiative into Kenya.
In a new interview released on Monday, October 20, 2025, Tems described the move as a natural next step in her mission to empower and amplify the voices of African women in the creative industry.
“The world needs to hear these girls, and I’m not going to gatekeep them,” Tems said passionately, reaffirming her commitment to nurturing young women artists, producers, and songwriters across the continent.
Founded by Tems, the Leading Vibe Initiative is a mentorship-driven platform designed to help women in music gain access to opportunities, build technical and creative skills, and connect with experienced mentors.
Through its workshops, masterclasses, and community programs, the initiative reflects Tems’s own journey, one she has often described as “tough but transformative.”
Kenya reminded me why I started the @leadingvibeinit 🇰🇪
The artists, their music, the energy, all of it gave me new motivation to keep going.

The expansion into Nairobi marks the beginning of a larger vision to reach more African countries.
“This is just the beginning of our expansion,” she said. “Seeing the fire and passion in these women gives me hope, there’s so much progress happening.”
Beyond developing music talent, the Leading Vibe Initiative also aims to reshape how women are perceived in the industry, spotlighting their contributions not just as performers but as producers, sound engineers, and creative leaders.
Tems added that her ultimate goal is to provide the kind of visibility and encouragement she wished she had at the start of her career.
“I think they need support in every way,” she said. “And I want to be that support.”
With this bold expansion, Tems continues to redefine what it means to lead from the front, using her platform not only to make music but also to open doors for the next generation of African women, cementing her place as one of the continent’s most influential and empowering voices.
