On June 2, 2024, NPR featured Tems‘ latest appearance on the Tiny Desk stage, where she performed songs from her upcoming debut album, Born In The Wild

Accompanied by a live band, Tems began her performance with “Me & U,” a single that earned a nomination for Best Gospel/Inspiration Song at the 2024 BET Awards. She then performed “Ice T” from her debut EP, For Broken Ears.

Tems also introduced an unreleased R&B track titled “Unfortunate” from her soon-to-be-released album Born In The Wild. Following this, she premiered another song from the album, “Forever,” which features elements of funky jazz and rumba, offering a glimpse into the diverse sounds of her debut project.

To close her set, Tems performed her latest single, “Love Me Jeje,” which samples the classic Nigerian song “Love Me Jeje” by Seyi Sodimu & Shaffy Bello.

This marks Tems‘ second Tiny Desk performance, following her home performance in 2022 promoting her sophomore EP, *If Orange Is A Place*. Her latest performance is part of NPR’s celebration of black women, with Tems being one of nine black female artists featured on the Tiny Desk stage.

Tems’ debut album, Born In The Wild, is set for release on June 7, 2024, and will include 18 tracks with guest appearances from Nigerian Grammy-nominated superstar Asake and American hip hop star J. Cole.
