The singer becomes the first Nigerian to debut at No. 1 on Billboard
Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer Temilade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems, has achieved a new milestone in her music career as she debuted at number 1 on the Billboard charts.
The sensational vocalist hit number 1 on the Billboard Charts with the sensational cover to the song ‘No Woman No Cry.’ This achievement has made Tems become the first Nigerian to make its debut at No. 1.

The year 2022 just kept getting better for Tems as the gifted singer made her solo debut at number one on the Billboard Charts with her renowned interpretation of Bob Marley’s popular song “No Woman No Cry” for the Black Panther film.
The Crazy Tinz hitmaker made her debut at number one on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart with the hit song; this is however not her first number one song on the chart Tems also appeared at number one on the chart with her collaboration with Wizkid on ‘Essence.’
Tem’s performance of the song had many captivated after the trailer was released, as many could not help but appreciate the multiple award-winning singer’s vocals.
