Why not Wizkid or Drake? – Tems shuts down rumors of pregnancy with Future
Nigerian artist Tems has addressed the bizarre rumors circulating on social media, which claim she is pregnant by American rapper Future. In a recent appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” Tems set the record straight and dismissed the unfounded speculation.
During the interview, she discussed her music, tour, and the rise of Afrobeats. When asked about the wildest rumor she had heard about herself, Tems pointed to the persistent claims from earlier in the year suggesting she was expecting a child with Future, who already has eight children with different women.
“The wildest thing I’ve heard about myself is probably the pregnancy rumor,” Tems said. “I don’t know where it came from; I was just minding my business, being homeless, and suddenly this story blew up. It was all so crazy. I think it’s just because more people are recognizing me now.”

She went on to express her confusion about why Future, in particular, was tied to the rumor. “I was like, ‘Why am I pregnant? And for Future? Why him?’ That’s the craziest part. Why not WizKid? Why not Drake? It could’ve been anyone, but with Future, it’s so extreme.”
In between laughter, the host asked if her family had reached out about the rumors. Tems responded, “My family members just sent me prayers, like, ‘You won’t be pregnant for any type of future, in Jesus’ name.'”
Tems took the rumors in stride, handling them with humor and grace while making it clear there’s no truth to the speculation.
