Here is why Taylor Swift will reportedly not perform at the Grammy Awards
Reports indicate a shake-up in the list of performers for the Grammy Awards 2024, as Taylor Swift, initially announced as a performer, will reportedly not take to the stage. According to sources close to Taylor Swift cited by Entertainment Tonight, the singer has confirmed that she won’t be performing at the Grammy Awards in 2024. However, she is still set to make an appearance at the event.
The media outlet reported that Swift had initially agreed to perform at the award ceremony but changed her decision due to her Eras Tour, which kicks off immediately after the show. Taylor Swift, whose album received six nominations at the 66th edition of the Grammys, is scheduled to perform in Japan for four consecutive nights right after the award ceremony.
The statement released by Entertainment Tonight read, “Despite reports on Sunday stating that Taylor Swift would be taking the stage at the 66th annual GRAMMY Awards, sadly, that is not the case. ET has exclusively learned that the “Karma” singer, 34, will be in attendance at the Feb. 4 award show, however, she will not be performing as she has a quick turnaround before resuming her record-breaking Eras Tour on the other side of the world. Swift — whose album Midnights is nominated for six awards — will quickly head out from the show and travel to Tokyo, Japan, where she will perform four back-to-back sold-out shows in the proceeding days.”
