Renowned Nigerian rapper Vector has made a powerful return with his latest single, Omi là wó ràn, a track that reinforces his reputation for thought-provoking and deeply philosophical rap.

Vector Returns with Reflective Rap Gem “Omi là wó ràn.”

The Yoruba-titled record, which loosely translates to “water is what we look into to see ourselves,” sets a reflective tone from the outset. It serves as a metaphor for self-examination, forming the backbone of a song that blends introspection with sharp social commentary.

Built on a stripped-down, refined beat, the track allows Vector’s delivery to take center stage. With precision and confidence, he weaves through layered metaphors and clever wordplay, exploring themes of identity, self-awareness, and the facades people maintain in modern society.

The single also continues the introspective “Teslim” narrative—showcasing a more personal and vulnerable side of the rapper—while still carrying the sharp edge and lyrical discipline that defined his early career.

Following recent collaborations with Made Kuti and Seun Kuti, Vector’s evolving sound leans more into African-rooted influences with a global appeal. Rather than chasing mainstream rap trends, Omi là wó ràn embraces a slow-burning, cerebral energy that rewards attentive listeners.

As he continues to develop his Viper persona through a series of releases, this latest offering stands as a reminder of his unique position in the game—effortlessly bridging the gap between classic rap craftsmanship and contemporary relevance. Omi là wó ràn ultimately proves that, much like water, truth always rises to the surface.

The self-proclaimed King of the South, Yung6ix, has joined forces with the lyrical powerhouse Vector for Never Have I Ever, a high-stakes lyrical showdown that proves both artists remain at the top of their game.

Yung6ix Teams Up With Vector for Lyrical Showdown “Never Have I Ever”

Drawing inspiration from the popular party game, the track operates as a series of confessions and bold statements, reflecting the grit, ambition, and lessons learned from years in the Nigerian rap scene.

Vector delivers a masterclass in wordplay, packing puns, metaphors, and intricate flows that reaffirm his status as one of Africa’s most intelligent lyricists. Yung6ix counters with his signature billionaire flow and charismatic swagger, leaning into his King of the South persona to rap about wealth, survival, and perseverance in the industry.

The interplay between Vector’s cerebral precision and Yung6ix’s confident delivery creates a compelling and dynamic listening experience.

Produced by CIQ, Never Have I Ever blends hip-hop and Afrobeats with a sophisticated touch. A brooding, dark synth melody sits atop crisp snares and deep 808s, while the minimalist beat ensures every line lands with maximum impact.

It’s a mature, refined sound of hip-hop for grown-ups that still retains enough rhythmic bounce for urban radio relevance.

The release is a major statement for Nigeria’s 2026 hip-hop landscape. It demonstrates that veteran artists can innovate and collaborate without chasing trends, emphasizing authenticity and mastery of the craft.

Never Have I Ever is more than a song; it’s a declaration that Nigerian hip-hop remains vibrant, creative, and unapologetically bold.

Speaking during a recent episode of the BTC Podcast, the lyricist explained that he does not subscribe to the idea of church as a physical edifice. Instead, he believes spirituality is rooted in the individual.

“I don’t believe in church as an edifice or a building. I believe in church as a human being. Because even the bible points to that fact that it is your heart that God is interested in.

“Also, I read a page alleged to be from Thomas and one of the statements read, ‘Behold, if the people that lead you tell you the kingdom is in the sky, then the birds of the sky preceed you. If they tell you the kingdom is in the waters, then the fishes preceed you.

“Rather, the kingdom is both inside of you and outside of you. If you know yourselves, you will become known and you would realise that you are the sons of the living Father. But if you would not know yourself, you will dwell in poverty and the poverty would be you’,” he expressed.

Expanding on his stance, Vector said, “So, if the kingdom is in the church, then the alter is more important that you. The kingdom is a conglomerate of believers. But it is rooted in the individualism of your saving. So, you are saved individually by connecting to God.”

According to the rapper, his views are shaped by his interpretation of scripture and personal study. He emphasised that for him, faith is deeply personal and centred on self-awareness and a direct relationship with God, rather than attendance at a physical worship centre.

However, Vector was careful to note that his position is not an attack on Christianity or organised worship. He clarified that he has nothing against those who choose to attend churches or belong to denominations within Christendom.

His comments have since sparked conversations online, with many debating the meaning of church, spirituality, and the balance between personal faith and organised religion in modern society.

Nigerian rapper Vector Tha Viper has sparked discussion online after sharing his candid thoughts on intelligence, influence, and how the public perceives political figures, including former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.

During a recent podcast appearance, Vector was asked whether Obi was overhyped or if Nigerians should take note of his influence. The rapper responded with measured caution, praising Obi’s sharp intellect and public appeal.

“As a matter of fact, Nigerians better be careful of such a man, that is very highly intelligent,” Vector said. “Not because I have or know anything wrong with him, or his stance — like he would say, go and verify. I might have personal opinions from my own experience, but I don’t know anything that I can say, you should beware of this person, no! But I know, someone who knows their books well and can speak convincingly… people like that, they are hot.”

He was quick to clarify that his remarks were not intended to downplay Obi’s contributions or achievements. “This is not in any way to stifle what he is doing,” he added, “but you know, there are many people we thought we were the ones, but they turned out to not be.”

Vector’s reflections have sparked conversation among fans and followers, with many weighing in on the influence of highly intelligent public figures on Nigeria’s political landscape.

On Saturday, November 1, 2025, the King Kong rapper took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a message written in Nigerian Pidgin that instantly grabbed attention:

“Una go let Rap verses dey gas una up till dem track una… Forming ‘picking sides.’ Na so this one don forget say him post him face on Twitter. When we see you, you go understand clearly why many rappers dey avoid Vector.”

The tweet, charged with tension and laced with street-coded warning, quickly went viral, sparking intense speculation about who the message was directed at.

Known for his razor-sharp lyricism and unfiltered opinions, Vector has a long history of fiery lyrical feuds, including his iconic clash with MI Abaga in 2019. This latest post has reignited that same sense of anticipation and unease within Nigeria’s hip-hop community.

Many fans believe the tweet was a thinly veiled jab at a younger rapper, possibly someone who’s been taking subliminal shots online or boasting about lyrical dominance.

Others think Vector was making a broader statement about ego, loyalty, and the growing culture of “picking sides” among today’s rappers.

The line “When we see you, you go understand clearly why many rappers dey avoid Vector” especially stood out, hinting at potential confrontation, whether in the booth or on the streets.

So far, Vector has offered no clarification or follow-up, allowing speculation to run wild.

Still, the tweet has dominated conversations across social media, once again solidifying his image as one of Nigeria’s most fearless and outspoken rap voices a veteran who demands respect both lyrically and personally.

For now, fans are watching closely, waiting to see if this latest warning will spark another round of lyrical fireworks in the ever-dramatic world of Nigerian hip-hop.

4lyce comes through with a new song titled “Chingary,” which stands out as one of the most compelling to consider adding to your playlist.

Chingary, a song that blends rap storytelling with Afrobeats rhythm, has a gritty but melodic beat. Lyrically, it’s a personal reflection, with 4FLYCE pouring out his emotions without filter.

Born in Nigeria into a large family of ten, 4FLYCE has always been “born different”. Early on, he was labelled as the outcast and found solace in his creativity and music. What started as a youthful attraction to sound and rhythm grew into a life’s purpose. By 2017, he had taken the bold step of founding his own record label, KWEMZIK MUSIQ, a platform that allowed him to explore his vision while nurturing other artists.

4flyce

Under KWEMZIK MUSIQ, he worked with fellow artist Darnaski, forming the group Darlington Koka. Their efforts paid off, landing them a performance slot at Harrysong’s concert in Warri in 2018. The following year, the duo dropped an EP titled Indigenous Vibe and later secured a collaboration during Orezi’s 2019 concert. While the experience brought challenges and financial setbacks, 4FLYCE turned the struggles into lessons that continue to shape his art.

New Chapter: Three Singles with a Story

4FLYCE is back with fresh energy, dropping three new singles across all platforms — OK Freestyle, How You Dey, and Chingary. Each track explores real-life experiences, from betrayal and detachment to survival and self-belief. Rather than masking his pain, 4FLYCE translates his scars into lyrics that resonate with anyone navigating struggles.

On Chingary, He opens with:
“Every day my heart is beating mean say am still alive again, So I live to believe in myself.”

The honesty in these lines reminds listeners of the resilience needed to push forward despite hardship. He continues with words of motivation:

“And my breath becomes motivation to focus on my vision life mission; Way nor easy at all my core, my War.”

It’s a candid confession from a man who is struggling with his circumstances and refusing to give up.

4FLYCE’s artistry doesn’t come in isolation. He draws inspiration from Nigerian greats like 2Baba, Vector the Viper, Erigga, and Olamide, while also borrowing from global rap icons such as Nas, KRS-One, and J Hus. The result is a hybrid sound; lyrical rap grounded in storytelling, layered with Afrobeats energy and streetwise grit.

These influences are evident in Chingary, where sharp delivery meets soulful rhythm, creating a track that feels both modern and deeply rooted in tradition.

Music With a Purpose

What makes 4FLYCE different is that he isn’t just making songs for entertainment; his music is therapy. He channels feelings of betrayal, backstabbing, detachment, and curiosity that nearly led him astray into words that others can hold onto. As he puts it, a man is a “spiritual being”, and that spiritual depth underscores every track he delivers.

Looking Ahead with KWEMZIK MUSIQ

With his record label still active, KWEMZIK MUSIQ is more than just a personal outlet—it’s a vision for collaboration and artist development. Having overcome industry setbacks and personal battles, 4FLYCE now stands as a voice for resilience, authenticity, and raw honesty in Nigerian music.

With Chingary, 4FLYCE proves he is not afraid to expose his pain, struggle, and determination through music. Alongside OK Freestyle and How You Dey, this release shows that he is not just an artist but a storyteller, a motivator, and a survivor.

For fans of Afrobeats, rap, and conscious music, 4FLYCE offers something refreshing: songs that inspire, heal, and entertain at the same time. As his journey continues, one thing is clear: the fire of KWEMZIK burns brighter than ever.

With its horn-heavy instrumentals, bass-heavy groove, and lyrical fire, ‘OPP(S)’ blends conscious rap with the unmistakable spirit of Afrobeat, giving listeners something to think about—and dance to.

“Everyone has an OPP, whether it’s your boss, the system, or the pressure to survive. This isn’t just a diss track, it’s a soundtrack for our reality,” says BIGBIRD Kuti, whose sharp flow on the track marks his bold entry into the rap arena.

From oppressive landlords and government frustrations to the stress of the daily hustle and broken hearts, the trio tackle it all with lyrical wit and no-holds-barred commentary.

Vector’s delivery slices through the beat with precision, while Odumodublvck adds his signature chaotic brilliance, delivering raw street energy with swagger.

Anchored in a new genre, the duo have coined RapFroBeat, the track fuses the protest backbone of Fela’s Afrobeat with the punchlines and punch-back nature of hip-hop, reclaiming African rap’s roots with pride and purpose.

A follow-up to their earlier collaboration, The Matter, ‘OPP(S)’ continues the duo’s artistic campaign—one that is as bold sonically as it is politically.

The accompanying music video is expected to portray Lagos life in all its hectic glory, complete with satire, symbolism, and scenes drawn from the day-to-day tension of urban survival.

From Coachella stages to the gritty streets of Lagos, BIGBIRD Kuti and Vector are creating more than music—they’re crafting a movement. BIGBIRD x THA VIPER promises to be a genre-bending experience where Afrobeat’s fire meets hip-hop’s fury in a call for justice, energy, and cultural pride.

Listen to The Matter HERE.

During a recent episode of her candid talk series Sharing with Seyi, the Yolo Yolo crooner looked back on her film debut in the 2018 Nollywood production Lara and the Beat.

The movie, which starred Seyi alongside Vector, was lauded for the palpable chemistry between the two leads — a spark Seyi now says was far from acting.

“We had dated before the movie,” Seyi disclosed, explaining that their previous relationship made their romantic scenes on set feel surprisingly effortless. “It wasn’t hard to slip into character — we had history,” she added.

The story took a more humorous turn as Seyi recalled a particularly awkward moment — filming passionate scenes while Vector’s wife watched from behind the camera.

“His wife was on set for most of the shoot, even during the kissing scenes,” Seyi said, chuckling. “And the craziest part? She was super supportive. She was like, ‘Yeah, do the kiss!’”

Despite the potentially tense situation, Seyi described the experience as smooth and mature, giving credit to everyone involved for their professionalism.

She emphasized that she and Vector have maintained a strong friendship over the years, proving that not all breakups end in bad blood.

The revelation has since stirred nostalgic conversations across social media, with fans commending the duo for their transparency and maturity. Many were also quick to revisit clips from Lara and the Beat, now viewing their chemistry in a whole new light.

The snippet first surfaced during a live stream hosted by alternative music star Santi, aka Cruel Santino, as part of his Subaru Boy series.

From the brief preview, Gasoline delivers a pulsating, high-energy sound, fusing Odumodublvck’s raw, street-heavy flow with Vector’s razor-sharp wordplay.

The production packs a punch, with deep basslines and an underground grittiness that amplifies both rappers’ distinct styles.

Since its unveiling, fans have been dissecting the track, praising the seamless synergy between the two artists.

Some listeners liken it to Odumodublvck’s previous hard-hitting releases, while others eagerly anticipate how Vector’s intricate lyricism will elevate the record.

What makes this collaboration stand out is the contrast in their approaches—Odumodublvck’s unfiltered, high-octane delivery meets Vector’s polished, calculated bars, setting the stage for a dynamic hip-hop banger. With anticipation building, fans are eagerly waiting for an official release date.

Given Odumodublvck’s consistent hit streak and Vector’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s elite lyricists, Gasoline could be a game-changer for the Nigerian rap scene.

Nigerian rapper Vector has shared his perspective on the ongoing dispute between Ikeja Electric and military personnel following allegations that soldiers assaulted officials of the electricity distribution company over a power disconnection.

The controversy erupted after a March 7, 2025, video surfaced online featuring Kingsley Okotie, Ikeja Electric’s Head of Corporate Communications, narrating how military personnel allegedly attacked employees, destroyed cameras, and tampered with the company’s IT infrastructure.

Vector, known for his outspoken nature, took to social media to criticize Ikeja Electric’s high tariffs under the Band A pricing system, arguing that citizens are being financially harassed without receiving the promised quality service.

“But you have been financially harassing citizens by forcing everyone onto expensive Band A charges without the said Band A service at a time when everything is stressing the average person.
His statement sparked discussions online, with some users, including a netizen named Adewale, arguing that while Ikeja Electric’s billing policies may be unfair, military intervention was not the appropriate response. Adewale pointed out that the facility allegedly owes ₦4 billion in unpaid electricity bills, suggesting that the soldiers should have pursued a legal resolution instead of taking matters into their own hands.

In response, Vector highlighted the psychological toll on military personnel, emphasizing that soldiers who endure life-threatening situations often lack access to therapy, which affects their ability to react calmly.

“Officers that barely get adequate therapy after facing heavy rounds of explosions and anti-aircraft ammunition—na them you dey expect make dem reason normal? If na you dey deal with that reality and you come dey feel heat for this hot weather, how you go react?”

The debate continues to gain traction online, fueling discussions about Nigeria’s electricity billing system, the military’s involvement in civil matters, and the broader issues surrounding power supply in the country.
