Nigerian rapper and singer Odumodublvck has ignited fresh excitement in the music industry with the unveiling of the “Side A” tracklist for his highly anticipated album, Industry Machine.

The announcement, made on Thursday, September 18, 2025, via his social media account, came with a cryptic caption: “LIKE A THIEF IN THE NIGHT. SIDE A. INDUSTRY MACHINE.” The post revealed nine songs, setting off a wave of fan reactions and sparking industry-wide conversation.

The tracklist begins with the album’s title song, Industry Machine, before diving into a string of heavyweight collaborations. Among the most talked-about is Grooving, which pairs Afrobeats superstar Davido with Afrobeat legend Seun Kuti, a collaboration already tipped as one of the project’s standout moments.

Other major features include South African pop sensation Tyla on Jameson, rap heavyweight Nasty C on Shot On One, and street-hop star Portable on Ika Pay Pass. Additional appearances from Pa Salieu, Phyno, Patoranking, and veteran rapper Reminisce round out the first half of the album.

Odumodublvck, born Tochukwu Ojogwu, described “Side A” as only half of the project, hinting that an equally loaded “Side B” is yet to be revealed. This tease has fueled speculation about even bigger surprises to come, with fans eagerly anticipating which other names could feature.

The eclectic lineup underscores Odumodublvck’s reputation for unpredictability and versatility, seamlessly blending genres, eras, and cultures. The album artwork, stamped with a Parental Advisory label, also suggests that he will retain the raw, unfiltered style that has set him apart in Nigeria’s rap scene.

With Industry Machine still only partially unveiled, the buzz continues to build. If “Side A” is anything to go by, Odumodublvck’s new album could prove to be more than just another release—it may well be a defining cultural moment.

The 16-track project, arriving after 2023’s I Love It Here, captures the Durban-born star at a pivotal moment in his career, one defined by artistic independence and personal growth.

As the title suggests, Free is a celebration of liberation. Breaking away from the constraints of major labels, Nasty C delivers a body of work that thrives on experimentation, emotional honesty, and cultural fusion.

Speaking to Apple Music, he explained: “This album was inspired by feeling free to be creative and do all sorts of different new stuff, and experience some new things.”

From high-energy cuts like Intro and Shmokin, to heartfelt numbers such as Selfish, the project balances swagger with sensitivity. On That’s Whassup, he revisits his come-up in the South African hip-hop scene, while MSP blends local slang and satire to clap back at detractors. Each track builds on themes of defiance, reflection, and joy, offering a panoramic view of Nasty C’s evolution.

Musically, the album is a tapestry of styles. Trap rhythms rub shoulders with Afrobeats grooves and even touches of maskandi, a traditional Zulu sound, giving the record a distinct cultural depth. Production credits include Cxdy, DoppyBeatz, and Spaced Time, whose work ranges from club-shaking beats to soul-stirring instrumentals.

The guest list is equally dynamic: Blxckie brings firepower on Leftie (Dlala Ngcobo), Usimamane injects grit into Soft, DJ Speedsta amplifies MSP with sharp social commentary, Tellaman adds melodic shine, and Tshego closes the album on a sleek, confident note with Not Tonight.

Visually, the project is accompanied by bold, crimson artwork, mirroring its themes of resilience, freedom, and self-determination. Songs like “FTW” and “Not Tonight” act as bookends, cementing the album’s bold, uncompromising energy.

Early reviews have hailed Free as one of Nasty C’s most defining works, with critics applauding its genre-fluid production and emotional vulnerability.

Fans have also been buzzing online, with industry peers including Kid Cudi, saluting the release. Meanwhile, tracks such as Switch, teased earlier through a Doritos South Africa collaboration, have only amplified the excitement.

With Free, Nasty C isn’t just releasing an album — he’s stamping his authority as a trailblazer. It’s a project that not only cements his standing in South African hip-hop but also reinforces his growing reputation as a global force.

South African rap heavyweight Nasty C has confirmed the arrival of his next studio album, Free, set for release this Friday.

Widely regarded as one of Africa’s most versatile rappers, Nasty C has built a reputation for seamlessly fusing hip-hop, trap, and Afrobeats into a sound that resonates far beyond the continent. From Johannesburg to London to New York, his global fanbase eagerly awaits every new chapter in his discography.

The album’s title, Free, has sparked speculation among fans about its deeper meaning. Many believe it signals a moment of liberation musically, creatively, and personally as the rapper continues to evolve while staying true to his core identity. Listeners are expecting a body of work that showcases growth, resilience, and boundary-pushing artistry.

With anticipation building as the release date draws closer, Free is already being tipped as one of the most significant African hip-hop drops of the year.

The track signifies his return to the forefront after embracing independence in his career. Not only did Nasty C produce the song under his alter ego Czzle, but he also built anticipation through cryptic social media teasers and striking visuals, generating excitement across platforms like SA Hip Hop Mag and Zkhiphani ahead of its release on May 6.

“Psychic” is a hard-hitting, introspective track that highlights Nasty C’s lyrical dexterity and his ability to blend various genres—a hallmark of his artistry since his 2015 mixtape Price City.

The song delves into his experiences, exploring themes of navigating interactions with haters, fans, and close confidants. A teaser earlier this week featured the bold line:

“Hater on my dick, The whole thing not just the Tip,” foreshadowing the raw, confrontational energy that defines much of the track.

Produced by Nasty C himself, the beat is described as “hard-sounding” with a dynamic flow, showcasing his evolution since the release of his 2023 album I Love It Here, which earned over 120 million streams for Strings And Bling alone.

This release marks a significant milestone in Nasty C’s career as he takes full creative control in 2025. Operating on a “higher plane,” he balances fatherhood, fitness, and consistent visual content, aligning with his earlier statements about the importance of artistic autonomy:

“I am still me and no matter what deals I sign; I am not letting anyone dictate my sound or image.”
“Psychic” embodies this sentiment, offering an unfiltered glimpse into his journey while reinforcing his reputation as “The Coolest Kid in Africa.”

South African artist Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, known professionally as Nasty C, boldly declared himself the best rapper in Africa during a recent one-on-one interview with Glitch Africa.

In the interview, Nasty C stated, “I am not the biggest rapper in Africa. Am I the best rapper in Africa? I think so.” This bold statement sparked reactions and discussions among fans and the hip-hop community.

Additionally, Nasty C was asked to list his top 5 Nigerian rappers, and he named M.I, Olamide, Phyno, Odumodublvck, and Blaqbonez. He praised each rapper, sharing his thoughts on their skills and contributions to the hip-hop scene.

Notably, he expressed admiration for Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez, highlighting their talents and positive energy.

“My top 5 Nigerian rappers? I wanna say M.I number one, Olamide, Phyno… Is Manifest from here [Nigeria]? Okay, he is from Ghana. Damn!

“Yeah, I wanna say Oddy, he played me a lot of his tracks. Odumodublvck for sure, is my number four. And then Blaqbonez. Blaqbonez is my guy. One of my homies had asked me, ‘How do you know this guy [Blaqbonez]?’. I was like I’ve known him for like a couple of years ago. Maybe four years ago.’

“At first, he [Blaqbonez] was someone I just came across with such good energy. He was funny on social media and I like to do that kind of stuff on social media. When I really started listening to his music, I was like, ‘Yo, he is actually hard.’ So, he is definitely my number five,” he said.

South African artist Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, known professionally as Nasty C, has disclosed his top 5 Nigerian rappers, shedding light on the continuous evolution of Nigerian hip-hop since the turn of the millennium. As a prominent figure in African rap, particularly among the younger generation, Nasty C’s musical contributions significantly impact the commercial appeal of hip-hop.

During an interview with Glitch Africa, Nasty C unveiled his list, with the legendary M.I Abaga claiming the top spot. M.I Abaga, a multi-award-winning rapper with a career spanning over a decade, has played a pivotal role in the success and domestication of rap in Nigeria.

Securing the second position is Olamide Baddo, whose adept fusion of rap and local elements has popularized hip-hop in Nigeria. Olamide stands as one of the most awarded, commercially successful, and influential artists in the Nigerian music scene.

Taking the third spot is the Igbo-speaking rap sensation Phyno, renowned for his award-winning contributions to the continent’s rap scene. Phyno’s music has played a crucial role in elevating local rap artists to the forefront of the industry.

Nasty C’s list continues with the inclusion of ODUMODUBLVCK at the fourth position, a minted hip-hop star, and Blaqbonez at the fifth position, representing the new school frontline. Both artists contribute to the dynamic landscape of Nigerian rap, according to Nasty C’s rankings.

In 2023, ODUMODUBLVCK emerged as one of the hottest Nigerian artists, credited with revitalizing hip-hop and sparking a renewed commercial interest in the genre within Nigeria. His recent release of the deluxe version of the 2023 mixtape ‘EZIOKWU,’ featuring a collaboration with Nasty C on a track, further solidifies his impact on the Nigerian music scene.

Similarly, Blaqbonez has been a pioneer in propelling hip-hop forward in Nigeria. His genre-fusion music, infused with contemporary elements and marked by innovative marketing approaches, positions him as a key figure in the evolution of the genre.

It’s noteworthy that Nasty C, a South African rapper, has openly shared that his formative years were influenced by several Nigerian stars, including Wande Coal and Phyno. This attests to the cross-cultural impact and inspiration that Nigerian artists have had on Nasty C’s musical journey.
