The couple made the revelation on May 21, 2026, posting a touching image showing Temi’s baby bump alongside a caption inspired by scripture.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, Before you were born I set you apart,”

The verse, drawn from Jeremiah 1:5, was met with an outpouring of congratulations from fans, friends, and fellow celebrities who flooded the comment section with well-wishes for the new parents.

While the couple has yet to disclose the gender or name of their newborn, the arrival marks a major milestone in their widely followed relationship, coming roughly 10 months after their lavish multi-country wedding celebration.

Speaking during a recent episode of the Afropolitan Podcast, Mr Eazi explained that his decision has nothing to do with rivalry or bad blood. Instead, he said it comes from a desire to protect his own creative identity as an artist.

According to him, Burna Boy’s artistry is so powerful and influential that he worries constant exposure to his music could unconsciously shape his own sound.

“Burna is one of the only guys that I like, I’m genuinely a fan of. I don’t even like to listen to Burna. I’ve said it before, because I’m a sponge. If I listen to so much Burna, you will hear it in my music so I try my best to stay away from Burna,” he stated.

“I don’t like listening to Burna Boy’s songs —I’ve said it before, I don’t want my music to start sounding like his.”

The comment has sparked conversation among fans online, with many interpreting it as a sign of deep respect rather than competition. Some listeners also praised Mr Eazi for being self-aware about the creative influence artists can have on one another within the music industry.

Both stars have previously collaborated on “Miss You Bad”, a standout track from Mr Eazi’s 2018 project Life Is Eazi, Vol. 2 – Lagos To London, a song that blended Burna Boy’s emotionally textured delivery with Eazi’s laid-back Afropop style.

Over the years, Burna Boy’s sound has become one of the most recognisable exports from Africa, influencing artists across different genres and regions. Mr Eazi’s remarks now offer a rare glimpse into how even fellow musicians carefully manage the influences around them while trying to maintain originality in an increasingly interconnected Afrobeats scene.

The clip, originally from his appearance on the 90s Baby Special podcast, was recorded about two years ago but has recently gone viral again, drawing renewed attention to his decision to turn down a performance at Afro Nation in 2019.

In the interview, Mr Eazi reflected on watching the festival grow into one of the most influential platforms for African music and explained that his decision was driven by concerns over long-term value rather than just performance fees.

He said:

“This is like a festival that is like 80% African, People are coming to see African artists. I was like, okay, I want equity. I was ready to perform, and then you give me equity in the brand.”

According to him, his proposal went beyond payment. He also requested access to audience data and performance analytics from the festival information he believed would help artists better understand their reach and independently structure their own tours and shows.

“If I wanted to do a show, I can say ‘hey, Mr Eazi is doing a show,'” he explained.

When those requests were reportedly not accepted, he walked away from the deal.

“They were like, no one is asking for that. And I was like, okay, then it’s gonna be life-changing money, because there’s nobody there that does not know Mr Eazi or doesn’t know my songs,” he added.

Mr Eazi framed the moment as a strategic business decision, pointing to his career momentum at the time, including performances at major global stages such as Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and a major show at The O2 Arena alongside Wizkid.

“That’s why I didn’t play at the show,” he said.

The resurfaced clip has since sparked wider debate among fans and industry watchers, with many discussing how African artists can leverage their growing global demand not just for performance fees, but for ownership, data access, and long-term influence within the entertainment business.

“Afro Nation wanted to book me, but I told them I didn’t want money like Wizkid, Burna Boy or Davido 😭

I asked for equity (shares in the company) and data/analytics on all the artistes performing because I am a businessman… but they refused 😂”

Speaking during an interview, the artist recounted how he once borrowed £40,000 from his uncle to fund a business venture that ultimately failed. What started as a hopeful investment soon turned into a tense situation when the deal went south, and repayment became an issue.

“I remember one time I took money from my uncle to do business; business went south. And then he was chasing me for the money… I was so embarrassed that my dad had to pay,” he said.

According to him, things became even more uncomfortable when his uncle involved his parents in the matter, something he felt could have been handled privately. The situation, he explained, not only created pressure but also deep personal embarrassment.

Mr Eazi didn’t shy away from admitting that he confronted both his uncle and his wife at the time, expressing his frustration over how everything unfolded.

“I told two of them that you people just f***ed up. You just lost an opportunity because I’m going to be a great guy and you’re not gonna be able to work with me,” he added.

Looking back, he sees the experience as a defining moment—one that reshaped his mindset around accountability, financial decisions, and long-term success.

Rather than dwelling on the setback, he made it part of the foundation that informed his journey as both an artist and a businessman.

The nine-track body of work marks another chapter in their long-standing creative relationship, one that has been built on years of collaboration, shared sound, and mutual respect.

It also brings together a series of previously released singles such as That Way, Mariana, and the title track See What We’ve Done, now packaged into a cohesive project.

The album features an impressive lineup of producers including GuiltyBeatz, JAE5, KillBeatz, and AoD, helping to shape a rich sonic blend that moves between Afrobeats, R&B, and pop influences.

Across the project, the two artists explore a wide emotional range—touching on love, reflection, celebration, and personal growth. Tracks like Where Have You Been?, Criminal, and Baby I’m Jealous sit alongside more upbeat records such as Mad Ting and No. 1 Fan, creating a balance between introspection and dance-ready energy.

Early singles from the project have already made notable commercial impact, reportedly surpassing 30 million streams and charting across multiple regions, including Africa, Europe, the UK, and parts of the Middle East.

Speaking on the release, Mr Eazi described the project as something deeply rooted in friendship and shared vision. “We’ve built this from nothing but our brotherhood and belief,” he said. “This album is a celebration of friendship, growth and gratitude.”

King Promise echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the personal nature of their collaboration and the journey that led to the project’s creation.

More than just a joint album, See What We’ve Done stands as a reflection of artistic evolution—capturing two voices that have grown together while still carving out distinct identities in the global Afrobeats landscape.

Speaking during a recent interview, Temi opened up about the communication gap that sometimes arises between them, especially during disagreements. According to her, while tension may be obvious, Mr Eazi often insists that everything is fine, even when he’s clearly upset.

She explained that instead of addressing issues in the moment, he tends to withdraw, only to later express his feelings more indirectly—through detailed messages.

In her words:
“I don’t like when Mr Eazi is angry with me… he won’t talk to me for days and when I ask, he says everything is fine then he’ll go to another room and send me a long email of everything he’s angry about… While I was reading it, my body was already becoming hot. So at some point, I can’t even read because I’m so angry. Because imagine I’ve asked this guy 10 times, are you upset with me? Are you upset with me? he said nothing. So honestly, if you’re in the same flat as someone, don’t you think it’s a bit childish to not go up and speak to them? I don’t know why he can’t just shout at me instead…”

Her comments offer a relatable glimpse into how even high-profile couples navigate misunderstandings, highlighting how different communication styles can sometimes create friction—even in close relationships.

“If you’re in the same flat as someone, it’s a bit childish to not go up and speak to them. But he finds it easier to express himself by typing. It would be nice if he could sit down with me and have it out.”

Temi reveals Mr Eazi prefers sending her emails over talking “harsh”… pic.twitter.com/xGOexVi9Mm

The song arrives as the third release from their forthcoming joint project, building on the momentum of earlier tracks like See What We’ve Done and That Way. Once again, both artists tap into their signature blend of highlife-inspired melodies and the smooth banku music style that has become synonymous with their collaborations.

Produced by AoD and Tudor Monroe, Mariana leans into a romantic Afropop sound, driven by soft guitar rhythms and an easy, dance-ready groove. King Promise takes the lead with his silky vocals, effortlessly carrying the emotion of the track, while Mr Eazi complements him with his laid-back, conversational delivery that fans have come to love.

At its core, the song is a heartfelt ode to love, centred around the character Mariana. It plays out like a classic serenade, fitting neatly into the lovers’ corner of Afrobeats, where melody and emotion take centre stage.

Their connection on the record feels natural—something built over years of friendship and previous collaborations such as Dabebi and Call Waiting. On Mariana, both artists move in sync, exchanging lines and harmonies in a way that feels effortless, almost like a conversation set to music.

As anticipation builds for their full-length joint album, Mariana offers a glimpse of what’s to come. The track reinforces the strength of their partnership and highlights how some of the most compelling sounds in West African music are born from genuine artistic relationships.

With the song already gaining attention across playlists, King Promise and Mr Eazi once again show that their collaborative energy remains a powerful force in the 2026 music scene.

The track arrives as a follow-up to their 2025 hit “See What We’ve Done,” which enjoyed a strong commercial run during the northern summer, and serves as the second offering from their upcoming joint album, also titled See What We’ve Done.

When the Pioneer of Banku Music links up with the King of Smooth, expectations are always high, and That Way delivers. Even with its February release, the song radiates summer energy, leaning into a mid-tempo, Highlife-infused Afrobeats sound that celebrates the irresistible charm of a lover who moves and loves that way.

Produced by Jae5 and Guiltybeatz, the record is rich and textured. A bold brass section and rolling bassline nod to classic Ghanaian Highlife, while modern, punchy drums keep the sound firmly rooted in today’s Afrobeats landscape.

King Promise glides effortlessly with his silky vocals, perfectly complemented by Mr Eazi’s relaxed, conversational flow, a contrast that gives the track its easy, addictive appeal.

Staying true to their strengths, the duo leans into themes of effortless romance, luxury, and good vibes. That Way avoids emotional heaviness, instead offering a feel-good escape into a world of beachside moments, chilled champagne, and genuine connection. It’s soft-life music in its purest form, warm, stylish, and inviting.

As anticipation builds for their joint album, That Way reaffirms that the creative synergy between Mr Eazi and King Promise remains as strong as ever.

With its smooth delivery and timeless feel, the track is well-positioned to become a staple on wedding playlists, lounge rotations, and sun-soaked soundtracks across Africa and the diaspora in the months ahead.

Nigerian singer and businessman Mr Eazi has stirred fresh conversations after revealing that he was the brain behind the now-iconic phrase “Detty December,” slang that has grown into a full-blown symbol of end-of-year fun, concerts, travel and nonstop partying in Nigeria.

Mr Eazi finally breaks silence on how he invented Detty December

The revelation came during his Detty Rave concert in Accra, Ghana, where the artist took a moment to reflect on how the phrase first came to life.

Speaking to the crowd, Mr Eazi traced the origin of the term back to his early days working behind the scenes as a show promoter.

According to him, the idea was born in 2016 when he and his friends were putting together a December event in Ghana. In search of a catchy name that captured the carefree spirit of the season, he suggested “Detty December,” a phrase that would later take on a life of its own.

“While working as a show promoter with my friends, I suggested that we call our December event ‘Detty December.’ Hashtag Detty December.

So in 2016, my guys invented Detty December. And Detty December is all about going back to your roots, having fun, and enjoying life intentionally,” he said.

What started as a simple event title has since evolved into a cultural movement, shaping how December is celebrated across Nigeria and beyond.

Still, Mr Eazi was quick to downplay personal ownership of the phrase, acknowledging how far it has grown beyond its original creators.

“Detty December is bigger than Mr Eazi. It’s bigger than anybody. Detty December is for all of us,” he added.

Today, the phrase has become a yearly ritual, drawing thousands of Nigerians home and attracting global attention—a testament to how a simple idea can transform into a shared cultural identity.

Speaking in a recent interview, the celebrity couple revealed that planning three destination weddings in three different countries within the space of just three months pushed them to their limits, emotionally and physically.

According to them, the experience came with intense pressure, difficult decisions and moments of disagreement.

“Three weddings in three months is insane,” they confessed, describing the period as overwhelming and draining.

Temi explained that their wedding plans initially started on a much simpler note. The couple had hoped to quietly tie the knot at a courthouse in Nigeria. However, those plans quickly changed when concerns about privacy came into play.

“If we went to the courthouse in Nigeria, it wouldn’t be as private as we wanted,” she explained.

In a bid to keep things discreet, another idea emerged — bringing court officials to their home for a private civil ceremony. While Temi said she loved the idea, Mr Eazi was less convinced, a difference in opinion that led to extended conversations and a rethink of their plans.

After weighing several options, the couple eventually chose Monaco as the location for their civil wedding. Temi revealed that the destination held personal meaning for her, making it a more sentimental choice.

The United Kingdom was also considered at some point, but she admitted it lacked the emotional connection they were looking for.

Beyond choosing locations, the couple said they were taken aback by how demanding the legal process of marriage turned out to be.

“I thought getting married was just deciding and signing papers,” Temi said. “I didn’t know there was a mountain of administration.”

Despite the stress and back-and-forth, the couple ultimately pulled off their series of weddings, turning what they described as a challenging season into a memorable chapter of their love story.
