Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, and Playboi Carti are set to headline Rolling Loud Europe this year, with the festival scheduled to run from July 5 to 7 in Ebreichsdorf, Austria.

This inaugural event, operating under a separate banner from Rolling Loud’s previous stops in Germany, Portugal, and Rotterdam, is expected to showcase a diverse lineup of artists from around the globe. Among the notable performers from the United States are Ice Spice, Gunna, Offset, Don Toliver, Ski Mask The Slump God, Lil Tjay, Sexyy Red, and Chief Keef. Representing the United Kingdom are acts such as K-Trap and Unknown T.

Rolling Loud co-founders Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif expressed their enthusiasm for the festival’s return to Europe, highlighting the fervent support of fans at their previous European shows and anticipating a continuation of that energy in Austria.

In recent years, Rolling Loud’s expansion has seen events held in Canada, the Netherlands, Australia, and Thailand. Additionally, the company is eagerly anticipating its return to Miami in December.

Rolling Loud Europe is set to coincide with the U.K. and European leg of Nicki Minaj’s “Pink Friday 2 World Tour.” In addition to her headlining performance at the festival in Austria, she will also grace stages in Denmark, Sweden, Portugal, and Italy, as well as at the Wireless Festival, Openair Frauenfeld, and Les Ardentes throughout the summer.

Meanwhile, Travis Scott recently concluded his “UTOPIA: CIRCUS MAXIMUS TOUR” earlier this year, which included stops in major cities such as Charlotte, Miami, Toronto, Chicago, and Orlando. Joining him for select dates were artists Veeze, Skilla Baby, and Babyface Ray.

Playboi Carti had plans for his “Antagonist Tour,” but unfortunately, it was indefinitely postponed. The anticipated lineup was set to include appearances from Opium Records artists Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang. Despite this setback, the “@ MEH” hitmaker is expected to release his next album before the end of 2024.

Popular Ghanaian musician, Black Sherif, will perform at the prestigious Wireless Festival in the UK. The three-day concert, which takes place at Finsbury Park, London, has a plethora of international acts on the bill.

The Ghanaian rapper/singer will be performing alongside big international artists like 50 Cent, Lil Tjay and Popcaan at the three-day event

The concert begins on Friday, July 7, 2023, and runs through Sunday, July 9, 2023. As a number of well-known musicians from around the world are included in the performer roster, the highly anticipated performance is expected to be thrilling.

The show’s organizers left the best for last, with Ghana’s very own Black Sherif, 50 Cent, Lil Durk, Popcaan, Lil Tjay, Dexta Daps, and Dreya Mac on Day 3’s lineup.

Many Ghanaians were ecstatic to see Blacko in the lineup and expressed gratitude to the show’s organizers for putting him on such a massive stage.

In what the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office described as an attempted robbery against the rapper and two of his friends, New York rapper Lil Tjay was shot after midnight on Wednesday, June 22.

Lil Tjay rose to prominence in 2018 with his track “Resume.” The rapper has released four EPs and albums, including F.N. and True 2 Myself in 2019, State of Emergency in 2020, and Destined 2 Win in 2021.

The single “Calling My Phone,” a Lil Tjay and 6lack joint effort from the album Destined 2 Win, peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became his highest-charting song to date.

According to a press release from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the shooting happened at shopping centre 14 The Promenade in Edgewater.

When the Edgewater Police Department arrived at the address in response to a 911 call at 12:08 a.m. ET, they discovered a 22-year-old victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers discovered another victim of the same age with a single gunshot wound at a different location, an Exxon Station. Both were taken to a hospital for medical attention.

Prosecutors announced the arrest of Mohamed Konate, 27, of New York City, on charges of attempted murder, armed robbery, and weapons offences, accusing the man of firing at the rapper, whose real name is Tione Merritt, as well as Jeffrey Valdez, 24, and Antoine Boyd, 22, both of the Bronx, who were with him.

Tjay was struck multiple times in the maelstrom, which also injured Boyd, Prosecutors said Wednesday night.

While the other victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and is in “good” condition, prosecutors earlier claimed that one victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition but was by that time described as stable.

TMZ reported that Merritt underwent emergency surgery, citing law enforcement sources.

We have decided to take a look at Pop Smoke and his posthumous music career success.

Born as Bashar Jackson but popularly known as Pop Smoke, was an American rapper and songwriter.

He was raised in Brooklyn and began his music career in 2018 while visiting a studio with his rapper friend Gwuapo.

Later on, he recorded and released his track “Mpr Panic Part 3 Remix)”.

While in 2019, he released his breakout single, “Welcome to The Party“, which was produced by British drill producer 808Melo.

Moreover, two remixes of the song were recorded, one which featured Nicki Minaj, the other Skepta.

Furthermore, a year after on February 7, 2020, Pop Smoke released his second mixtape “Meet the woo 2“.

The mixtape featured American singers Quavo,  A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Fivio  Foreign, and Lil Tjay.

The mixtape debuted at number seven on the US Billboard 200 and earned Pop Smoke his first top 10 hits in the US.

Less than two weeks after his mixtape release, he was fatally shot in his home and pronounced dead in the hospital.

Now that a year has passed and four suspects have been arrested, you cannot deny the empty crater in drill music without Pop Smoke.

Pushing the NY scene to the forefront of pop music, with the help of the UK and drill community, Pop Smoke left an irreversible mark on the genre before his death.

Of course, Pop smoke wasn’t the first drill nor the first NY drill rapper, the likes of Sheff G is enough evidence.

However, he became the frontrunner of the scene and generated a huge demand for himself.

His Posthumous Music Career Success:

During the Black Lives Movement protest last year, his hit single “Dior” became the fuel of the movement.

Videos circulated on social media of the protesters dancing to the song and marching.

However, he wasn’t present to witness these memorable scenes and moments.

On “Dior”, he pledged to “raise hell” until a friend is released from prison, a message that particularly resonated with those demanding justice in the wake of Floyd’s death.

Also in his death, Pop Smoke‘s voice has grown even louder and his fame has gone far too wide.

In the US, his singles continue to claim top spots on music charts and dominate the airwaves.

Also, his posthumous single “What You Know Bout Love” reached the top spot on the US rhythmic radio chart last month.

While his song “For The Night” featuring DaBaby and Lil Baby is now a staple among the top five played songs on urban radio stations.

These two songs combined streams on Spotify are close to 1 billion!

On the other hand, his posthumous album Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon has broken limits.

The album was produced by Executive Producer 50 Cent.

Upon its release after his death, the album has debuted on Billboard 200 twice.

It debuted at number one last July and is currently at number three, clocking up an impressive 31 weeks on the chart.

The music on Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon only heightens the heartbreak.

it only proves Pop Smoke could have done more if he were alive.

However, it isn’t a new deal for a late rapper or singer to gather posthumous fame, but he is noteworthy.

Awards/Nominations 

Currently, his “Dior” hit single has been nominated for the 63rd annual Grammy Awards ceremony.

It’s been nominated for the category of the Best Rap performance.

Also, his song Himself got three nominations last year.

Of which, it won the category of the Best New Hip-hop Artist in the BET Hip-hop Awards.

Pop Smoke still lives on in the mind of many, and his legacy still lives on!

Rema has already hit the ground running, with his previous singles, and not to forget his Instagram is lit. With dope photo-shoots and freestyles. Speaking of freestyles, many people like his freestyles better than say “Iron Man”. Because most of his freestyles are Trap stuff, where he’s just vibing like Lil Tjay.

Tjay is far, but those stuff has also got him Nasty C comparison. At least sounding like Wizkid doesn’t mean you gotta be afro all the time. And that may just be another reason he’ll hit it big.

So, he released an EP, a compilation of your  “favorite freestyles.” There’s a chance you’ve heard him do one of those in a freestyle, before. But there’s also a very good chance what you’ll be hearing is a whole new vibe. American new school hip-hop vibe. Cards played well, Rema may be the new face of trap music. Even though, he’s not a rapper. But really, who cares?

“American Love” is, like all the others, a trap track, and he was really sounding like Nasty C on it.

“Boulevard” has got a soul vibe, and a perfect song for heartbroken teenagers. “Bad girl say she don’t like, she won’t text me.” It’s surreal though.

“Spiderman” is a lyrical stuff, but as all trap songs, the lyrics is being overshadowed by the vibe on it. You imagine if it has a video, it will be some kid with lean, high already just doing some silly moves. Right?

“Trap Out The Submarine” is definitely the highlight of the EP, as he traps his way into the song. He actually did talk about some people tryna murder him. Classic XXXTentacion tune, there was even a distant background sound at the end. The realest one on the EP he mentions the government, some bitches, some niggas and he leaves a final note for everyone “better believe in me, I’m a prophesy.”

Rema may have to pay his dues to get to the top, or be rated alongside Wizkid, Nasty or even Lil Tjay (who’s not African, by the way.)  But with this, he definitely is off to a great start. Maybe they are just ordinary normal freestyles, yeah, but they’re also a prove of what is to come.

He might just be Don Jazzy’s biggest bet yet. Because what do we need right now, if not a teenage singer with a hip-hop vibe that sounds like an American? Well, you tell me.
