Nigerian singer, Mayorkun is keeping fans on the edge after he dropped a cryptic note about collaborating with a certain artist people thought he won’t do so with.

The singer took to Twitter yesterday to reveal that he made music with someone fans believe that he can never collaborate with.

He also warned them that he doesn’t want to hear any negative reviews about the collaboration when it comes out.

“Made music with someone y’all thought I would never make music with, make I no hear any negative pim o, ok. ????”

He didn’t reveal the artist in question but fans took to the comment section speculate on who it might be.

The first comment Mp3bullet.ng sighted was from a fan who suggested that the featured artist might be Mavin Record artist, Di’Ja. However, the songstress denied it in a reply to the fan, stating that she only liked the tweet.

In her words;

Many people assume that the Mayor of Lagos could be talking about Wizkid as his tweet is the same words the superstar spoke about in an interview.

Mp3bullet.ng compiles a list of Nigerian artists you might not know have politicians as parents.

Many people have a strong dislike for politicians while also having a strong love for celebrities.

In fact, simply by affiliation with the parent, the label of being a politician’s child can sometimes come with a lot of acquired hatred.

However, there are instances when a celebrity turns out to be the offspring of a politician, and frequently, very few people are even aware of this.

Nigerian singer, Di’Ja has returned to the music scene with a new single titled, ‘Yoruba Demon’.

Doubling as her debut entry into the year, the song sees the sonorous singer fall in love with the hottest, yet dangerous cheat, who makes her regret her decisions later…

Accompanied by a music video Shot and directed by Unlimited L.A, the plot depicts the cunningly widely accepted notion of ‘Yoruba men’ being cheats and unfaithful. It is quite an interesting work of art, with colourful scenes.

Quotable lyrics

Who tell me make I fall for you oh
Baby oh

Ahhhh)Yoruba demons
Hahnnnn
Them go okay you like ping pong
When you see them
Better start running (x2)…

There aren’t many one-hit wonders in the Nigerian music scene.

Either you blow or you don’t blow out here this place is just ridiculous to stay relevant after a hit, you make every effort to follow it up with more hits therefore, everyone is working harder on their follow-ups.

However, not everyone has the good fortune to score twice. Long term, there are still a few one-hit wonders. Artists that have had national hits but have had little success with any of their subsequent work.

10 Nigerian musicians that only had one hit before facing a major decline

We present ten of the most well-known one-hit wonders of the 20th century on this list. These are artists that even young people from the indomie age will be familiar with or at the very least have heard of.

1. Bigiano (Shayo)

What do we call this if not a waste of talent? One of 2008’s biggest successes was produced by Bigiano and is a party song called “Shayo.”

Bigiano is a name that you’re familiar with if you listened to Nigerian music in 2008. the “Shayo” groove, too. But regrettably, that was his sole success.

2. Jodie (Kuchi Kuchi)

Whatever becomes of Jodie?

Oh my god, oh my god, kuchi kuchi yes. Who in that year didn’t know that song? That song has the power to calm you down at any time. Although it has a spiritual and uplifting vibe, the song is about love. In 2011, it became popular.

However, a lot of people aren’t even familiar with her name, much less another song. I could add, regrettably.

3. Chuddy K (Gaga Crazy)

Go gaga is insane, and she is, indeed, crazy. One of the top club bangers of 2012 was this tune. However, that was the last we heard of Chuddy K. in some way.

The fact that you choose Chuck D as your stage name shouldn’t have a significant impact on your professional life. Or ought it to?

4. Lynxxx (Fine Lady)

God bless Wizkid. Lynxx might not have had a successful single in the end.

With WizKid providing the vocals, “Fine Lady” was undoubtedly a smash at that point. The wedding-themed music video was also unique.

However, Lynxx? He might still be developing “the hit single after the hit single,” who knows!

5. Di’ja (Awww)

Numerous new stars emerged in the industry in 2014. New members of YBNL and Mavins had the potential to blow the industry away. Of them, Di’ja was one.

Everyone heard her say, “There’s nothing I won’t do to make you smile, oh,” and it had been almost seven years. She was never able to execute a follow-up. Anyway, I’ve heard that she now has two or three children.

6. Viktoh (Skibi Dat)

Prior to “Skibi Dat,” Viktoh was well-known for his role in Lil Kesh’s wildly successful “Efejoku” song as well as for being YBNL’s good boy.

He doesn’t even know what he wants to accomplish, though. Rap, sing, or act like a good boy? Unlike, say, Lil Kesh, for example, his music has not wowed listeners throughout the years.

Only “Skibi Dat” was successful. After that, nothing he did improved.

7. Sugarboy (Hola Hola)

He hasn’t done anything after his modest success “Hola Hola,” which came out in 2016. His entire CD was awful. It didn’t help to steal a tune from an impending work of art. What’s up Sugarboy, sef?

8. Wale Turner (No)

Once upon a time, Wale Turner was a wonder child who many believed would take native hip-hop and make it popular.

Although “No” was somewhat impressive. A successful hit that is both catchy and worthwhile. For approximately a year, it was able to keep the person in certain chats. He then began to slowly float away into nothingness.

9. Victor AD (Wetin We Gain)

Victor will tell you he is most definitely not a one-hit wonder if you ask him today. But Victor AD has been working on a better hit than the trending “Wetin We Gain” for years. And unsuccessfully, if I may add.

The majority of his efforts have fallen short of the standards he set for himself, and many of them are just plain bad. I have no regrets about included him on my list.

10. Pepenazi (Illegal)

In any case, that is the Olamide effect. Olamide can deliver a hit for you, but are you going to rely on him constantly? Definitely not.

Pepenazi is now known as “the guy who did illegal that year” after all these years. Oh, that’s horrible.

That’s all for today, though. Please share your thoughts.

In the history of Nigerian pop collaborations, “Dorobucci” is one of the few songs that was a culture reset.

Don Jazzy-led Mavin record has dished out classics over the years solidifying its place as one of Nigeria’s top labels.

Mavin was birthed after the crash of D’banj and Don Jazzy’s co-led Mo’hits record which dominated the industry in the mid-2000s.

While D’banj left to join Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music record and start his own label, Don Jazzy started Mavin signing in Wande Coal, Tiwa Savage, D’Prince and Dr Sid at the initial stage.

However, Wande Coal left and other artists like Korede Bello, Reekado Banks, and Di’Ja were added to the label.

Over the years, the Label has witnessed the exit of some talented acts and the addition of other acts like Ayra Starr, Magixx, Crayon, and Rema who came through a joint partnership with D’Prince’s Jonzing record.

This year, the iconic label clocked 10 years and to commemorate the special occasion, mp3bullet.ng compiled a list of some of its best classics released over the years.

Take note, that this list isn’t ranked and for lack of space, other classics couldn’t be added.

Dorobucci- (Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, Dr. SID, D’Prince, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Di’Ja)

Dorobucci

“Dorobucci” was one of the most popular in Nigerian pop culture throughout 2014. The song also marked the launch of the Mavin group into the mainstream scene.

Reekado Banks had a terrific hook on this one, as did the entire Doros.

Adaobi- Mavins (Don Jazzy, Reekado Banks, Di’ja, Korede Bello)

Don Jazzy claims he isn’t a singer, however, this song disproves that allegation. Reekado Banks also put in a strong performance on this one.

Di’ja and Korede Bello also did well, but Reekado Banks and Don Jazzy were the clear winners.

Despite the fact that this song was released in 2014, it still feels like a new song.

Dorobucci might have been Di’Ja’s first big break but “Awww” launched as a proper solo artist. While she has released several songs after this, none have been able to top the greatness of this record.

Mp3bullet.ng presents 6 pregnancy news from Nigerian Artists that took fans by surprise

It’s difficult to keep a secret. It’s considerably more difficult to keep a secret when you’re a public figure. However hiding a secret that physically transforms your body and is highly visible – such as a pregnancy – when you’re in the public glare, that’s effort!

Still, as well-known as artists are, there have been a few who have managed to conceal pregnancies and then surprise their fans and viewers with the big news at the perfect time.

Today, we’ll take a look at Nigerian artists that made shocking pregnancy announcements.

Davido and Chioma Rowland

Davido and Chioma

Most fans shouldn’t have been surprised by this due to he the fact that Davido was already a father of two when he started dating Chioma.

However, as there were a lot of expectation form Davido and Chioma’s relationship going by how different it was from the singer’s previous relationship.

When Davido announced that he was expecting his third child in 2019, many fans didn’t hesitate to express their shock. More surprise hit fans after the two welcomed a son, Ifeanyi in 2019.

Simi and Adekunle Gold

Simi announced her pregnancy in one of the most memorable ways in Nigerian history – with a music video.

The announcement was done so eloquently and gracefully that the song Duduke became a love letter from mothers to children all across the world. It was both surprising and wonderful.

She and her husband welcomed a baby girl, Adedeja Kosoko in 2020.

Banky W and Adesua Etomi

Adesua Etomi and her husband, Banky W, were another couple who shocked the entire Nigerian nation with their announcement.

They announced on Adesua’s birthday in 2021 that she was not only pregnant, but had given birth to their baby son, Zaiah, after three years of marriage.

The surprise revelation on her birthday was accompanied by a photoshoot and, days later, a music video.

Di’Ja

Di’Ja is the queen of surprising pregnancies. Di’Ja may be pregnant again at this time and no one will know because she is known for keeping her personal life quiet and has done so for not one, not two, but three children.
