Super Eagles move up in FIFA’s ranking for October 2024
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up to 36th in the FIFA World Ranking for October 2024, rising from their previous 39th position.
This marks a significant improvement, especially in Africa, where the team has climbed from sixth to fourth place. The rankings were released following Nigeria’s victory against Libya in their AFCON 2025 Cup of Nations qualifier during the last international break.
In Africa, Morocco continues to lead, holding 13th place in the world, followed by Senegal in the 20th and Egypt in 30th. Globally, Argentina remains at the top, followed by France in second and Spain in third.
Portugal, featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, is ranked seventh, while Brazil and Italy are positioned fifth and ninth, respectively. England holds the fourth spot, just behind the top three.
Nigerians will look forward to seeing if the Super Eagles can continue their upward trend when the next FIFA ranking is released on November 28, 2024.
