Italian tactician Luciano Spalletti is reportedly on his way back to Serie A, with several Italian media outlets claiming that he has reached an agreement to take over at Juventus following the dismissal of Igor Tudor.
According to reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, the 65-year-old has accepted a short-term deal that will keep him at the helm until the end of the season. The contract also includes an automatic extension should Juventus secure Champions League qualification.
The managerial change comes on the heels of a rough patch for the Bianconeri, who extended their winless run to eight games after a weekend defeat to Lazio. The poor form prompted the club’s management to act swiftly, seeking an experienced hand to steady the ship.
Juventus currently sit eighth in Serie A, though only three points separate them from fourth-placed Inter Milan, keeping their European hopes alive.
While Spalletti has not officially confirmed the move, his recent comments suggest a strong desire to return to club management.
“Me, the new coach of Juventus? So far I have not been in contact with any Italian teams, but I want to return,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

Spalletti also had kind words for his predecessor, Igor Tudor:
“Igor is a real man with values. You have to get on well with someone like him. He is a man with substance who gets straight to the point. Whoever replaces him on the Juventus bench will be lucky — he will definitely take over a well-coached team.”
Spalletti’s last stint in club football came with Napoli, where he famously guided the team to the Scudetto in the 2022/23 season their first league title in over three decades. His recent spell as Italy’s national team coach ended on a disappointing note, but his return to domestic football could reignite his managerial spark.
Over the years, Spalletti has built a distinguished résumé with top clubs including Roma, Inter Milan, Zenit St. Petersburg, Udinese, Empoli, and Sampdoria, earning a reputation as one of Italy’s most tactically astute coaches.
