Soundcity heeds TG Omori’s advice as they credit Directors in the VIDEO OF THE YEAR category
It seems that the music TV station, Soundcity have decided to take the advice popular Cinematographer, TG Omori gave them over crediting Video Directors in the “Video of the Year” category.
Recall that TG Omori took to his Instagram story to slam Soundcity for failing to give Music Video Directors their due.
The song names and pictures in the video category were those of the artists, not the directors of the videos.
TG Omori voiced his opinions on this choice via his Instagram account since he found it to be unsatisfactory.
On Sunday, January 22, 2023, on his Instagram story, TG Omori criticised Sound City for failing to give recognition to the video directors of the nominated videos and instead opting to do so for the performers.

The conduct, according to TG, was insulting, especially given that Soundcity is a TV channel whose major programming is music videos.
The ace director urged that the oversight be remedied and that the video directors be recognised in the only category in which they are eligible.
On Monday, Soundcity took to Instagram to post a new lineup for the Video of the Year category, this time crediting the directors of the videos.
In the category, Director K was nominated for Rema’s “Calm Down” video, TG Omori bagged three nominations for “Bandana”, “PBUY” and Kizz Daniel’s “Buga“, South African artist, Costa Titch bagged a spot on the category for his video, “Flexa”, Rex for Camidoh’s “Sugarcane remix”, Darion 4k for “Osama”, Ivan for Diamond Platnumz’s “Zuchu”, Blaqbonez and Perliks for “Back in Uni”, Top Shotta for Omah Lay’s “Soso“.
