Sophie Ndaba opens up on weight loss and depression
Sophie Ndaba was open about experiencing despair after losing a lot of weight after being told she had diabetes, Over the years, actress Sophie Ndaba has become more candid about her issues with depression and mental health.
Ndaba is well known for playing Queen Moroka in the drama series “Generations” on SABC 1 and she has since grown quickly to become a brand.
The actress disappeared from the tiny screen after achieving unexpected stardom, leading many to speculate about her whereabouts.
Many people were concerned when photographs of Ndaba that appeared frail were shared on social media and it was revealed that the actress had diabetes, which had a negative impact on her and contributed to her sadness.
Despite the setback, she has already recovered and is now engaged in her favourite activities. She has been open about experiencing extreme weight loss and depression.
On the second season of the four-part Mzansi Magic television series “Black Conversations,” where she is a guest panellist, the actress shared details about her life.
The four-part series, which primarily focuses on mental health, success, and storytelling, covers current concerns affecting the black community.
Ndaba spoke candidly on the value of Ubuntu and her own mental health.
She said: “This is why I am glad to be talking on the mental health topic because I learnt how to deal with navigating people’s opinions about me. I was told I would never be loved by anyone based on how I look right now. I feel I will be able to help enlighten others on how I chose not to allow anyone’s opinion about me to affect me anymore.”
