Davido’s baby mama Sophia Momodu accuses the singer of threatening her life
Sophia Momodu, who is the mother of Davido’s daughter, Imade, has officially issued a cease-and-desist order against the singer. She has warned of potential legal consequences if Davido fails to stop the purported cyberbullying within the next 48 hours.
According to a document dated January 10, 2023, Momodu, represented by her legal team, alleges that Davido has engaged in cyberbullying, harassment, and even posed a threat to her life. The legal notice asserts that the singer has allegedly compensated blogs to disseminate false information about her.
“We write further to out email under reference regarding the conduct of Mr. David Adeleke towards our client, which amounts to cyberbullying, harassment and threats to life of our client, Ms Sophia Momodu, and her close associates. This is in addition to several defamatory remarks and publications sponsored against the person of Ms Sophia Momodu by your client through different social media blogs,” the document read in part.
The document emphasized that prior emails addressing the issue were sent to the singer’s legal team but were disregarded. Furthermore, it warned Davido that he would be held accountable for any adverse consequences affecting Momodu.
“In the recent days, our client has been the target of a series of organized attacks and cyberbullying orchestrated by your client and his associates. Through this letter, we are once again underscoring our stance, as previously expressed in our earlier email, that your client bears responsibility for any harm inflicted upon our client,” emphasized another representative.
Momodu’s formal complaint follows a similar move by singer Tiwa Savage, who lodged a petition with the police against Davido, citing comparable allegations. Tiwa Savage asserted that Davido threatened her life due to her friendship with his baby mama and urged the Lagos State police to investigate. In response, the police initiated inquiries into the matter.
