Skepta hailed Zazu hitmaker as a refreshing change in the music industry
British rapper Skepta has admired Nigerian singer Portable, calling their encounter a refreshing experience and praising the artist’s authenticity.
Skepta’s comments followed their 2023 collaboration on the track ‘Tony Montana,’ which also saw Zeh Nation boss earning royalties from the partnership.
In a post on his X page, Skepta wrote: “I’ve met so many fake guys in this game, meeting Portable was refreshing #TonyMontana. Whatever Portable does I recognise, dropping daily snippets, jumping gate, walking the street with bank statements. I may not do it myself but I know that energy and I respect it #TonyMontana.”
The rapper highlighted Portable’s raw energy and passion, noting that while he might not engage in the singer’s more controversial antics, he respects the intent behind them. Skepta added that the “Zazu” stood out as genuine in an industry filled with pretense.
Some fans reacted to Skepta’s praise with caution, warning him about Portable’s unpredictable behavior. However, Skepta dismissed these concerns with a nonchalant response on social media.
