Skepta reveals how Odumodublvck influenced him.
British-Nigerian rapper Skepta has acknowledged the influence of budding hip-hop artist Odumodublvck on his approach to social media.
The Grime star revealed that the ‘Declan Rice‘ crooner inspired him to adopt a more lighthearted attitude and not take everything too seriously on social media, encouraging him to “catch cruise,” or, in other words, have more fun.
Skepta shared this insight during an interaction with a fan on Twitter who asked, “Big Smoke, you are a big influence on Odumodublvck. What’s the biggest way he’s influenced you?”
To which Skepta responded, “Odumodu influenced me to catch cruise more. Nothing is serious until it’s serious.” This exchange sheds light on the impact of social media dynamics and the interplay of influence within the music community.

Recall, Skepta has directly addressed speculation that Wizkid copied his neck tattoo design. In November 2023, Wizkid unveiled a neck tattoo with the inscription ‘PRAY,’ sparking intense debate on social media. Some claimed that Wizkid had copied Skepta’s tattoo idea, leading to a response from the rapper, who is known to be a close friend of the Nigerian singer.
Skepta dismissed the notion, stating that just because he has a neck tattoo doesn’t mean others can’t get one as well. This response highlights the individuality and personal choices associated with tattoos, emphasizing that the same design can hold different meanings for different people.
He posted, “So because I get tattoo for neck, nobody else should catch am? You people should gerrout forreal, you are bored and it’s showing.”
