Grime icon Skepta has officially confirmed that his sixth studio album, Fork & Knife, will arrive in early 2026, marking his first full-length solo project in six years since 2019’s Ignorance Is Bliss.
The Tottenham-born artist, whose real name is Joseph Junior Adenuga, first teased the project under the working title Knife and Fork, initially eyeing a 2024 release.
Now finalised and ready to go, Skepta describes Fork & Knife as one of his most personal and introspective works yet, diving deep into his Nigerian heritage and life journey.
He revealed that the album’s title was inspired by a saying from his mother:
“In this life, we have to work hard, so one day, we’ll eat with fork and knife.”
For Skepta, that phrase embodies the “immigrant mindset”—the drive, grit, and resilience that turned early struggles into a foundation for success.
Explaining the project’s concept, he said it captures the stark contrast between home and the world outside:
“Being in my house, it smells this way, looks this way, feels this way, sounds this way, and then I leave my house… and it’s like going to Narnia; you’re in the U.K.”
He described Fork & Knife as a “liberating album,” transforming the weight of immigrant trauma into focus, discipline, and ultimately, achievement.
Though Skepta has yet to unveil the tracklist or collaborators, the confirmation alone has sent a wave of excitement across the grime and hip-hop communities.
Beyond the music, Skepta continues to grow his fashion label MAINS, curating art, style, and sound into one creative universe. With Fork & Knife, he appears ready to close one era and open another—a reflective, powerful chapter that promises to remind fans why he remains one of Britain’s most influential voices.
