Popular Nigerian singer and rapper Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, better known as Skales, is overjoyed after finding unexpected global recognition through Barcelona superstar Lamine Yamal.
A viral video circulating on social media captures the Barcelona and Spain forward vibing with his teammates to Skales’ hit song Shake Body.
Originally released on May 6, 2014, as the lead single from his debut album Man of the Year, Shake Body was a major hit in Nigeria.
Now, more than a decade later, 17-year-old Lamine Yamal—one of football’s brightest young talents—was spotted dancing to the track alongside teammates Nico Williams and Samu Omorodion.
The trio’s excitement was palpable as they grooved to the song, and Yamal later took things a step further by sharing it on the Insta-stories section of his verified Instagram page, which boasts 27.5 million followers. Remarkably, Yamal was just seven years old when Skales first dropped the track.

Celebrity blogger Tunde Ednut, amazed by the resurgence of Shake Body, highlighted how the song is now gaining popularity in Spain.
He wrote:
“Wow, can you see Grace? Do you see how a song can travel? This song might be old in Nigeria, cause it was released about 10 years ago, but Yamal has revived it. Now, the song is gaining popularity in Spain 🇪🇸 because Yamal Lamine has been consistently posting and dancing to it on TikTok and Instagram. @skales must be proud. Big up my brother. You created a classic. ❤️❤️❤️.”
In response, an emotional Skales expressed gratitude, writing:
“He has raised my price in Europe… thank you @lamineyamal for letting God use you to bless me … thank you @mazitundeednut for gingering me to drop this song when I was homeless.”
This unexpected global resurgence of Shake Body proves that music truly has no expiration date, and Skales is now basking in a renewed wave of international recognition.
