Simi comes out against the intimidating tactics used by some politicians.
Nigerian musician and songwriter, Simi has spoken out against how some politicians intimidate and coerce people into supporting them.
The singer took to her social media page to state that if elected officials had done what the people wanted, they wouldn’t need to use certain violent tactics to get support.
She said that if they had been successful and well-liked by the populace, they wouldn’t have needed to use intimidation and terror to get votes for reelection.
In her words:
“If you do well and people love you, you won’t have to use fear and intimidation to force anyone to support you. Isn’t this common sense?”

Recall, Simi expressed her dissatisfaction with several people after the result of the Nigerian presidential election of 2023 was announced.
The “Duduke” singer said on her Instagram page that the election had made her lose respect for many individuals.
Simi voiced her concern over the fact that some people have committed evil deeds in the open without fear of consequences, yet their fans continue to stand by them in public.
The mother one claimed that she had lost all respect for certain individuals who had supported an election that had been tarnished by violence, intimidation, and manipulated results.
While admitting everyone is entitled to the freedom to make their own decisions, Simi highlighted that publicly applauding evil deeds is not a show of courage or strength.
“A lot of people have surprised me this election. Lost whatever respect many have had for them.
“‘It’s my choice’ is fair; but when people do wicked things in daylight without fear of repercussion, and you still support them, it serves you better to do it quietly.
“You’re not courageous, or brave, or strong in the face of adversity. You’re ignorant. And proud,” Simi wrote.
