Nigerian Singer, Simi is earning more rewards from her 2020 hit song, “Duduke,” after it became the first short-form music video to be certified 2x Platinum in Nigeria by The Recording Certification of Nigeria (RCN).
The RCN made the announcement of the official Twitter Handle on the 18th of March, 2020.
According to reports, The music video of “Duduke’ has been viewed over 3 million times on YouTube NG – the only music video to cross the 3 million mark in the last three years (RCN data for Short Form Video Certification dates back to 2018).
The music video was awarded Multi-Platinum for pushing 10413.74 units.
“Duduke” was released on April 16, 2020, with its music video premiered shortly after on April 19. The video was directed by Adasa Cookey, who becomes the first music video director with a multi-platinum music video in Nigeria.

The Recording Certification of Nigeria is an organization that aims to create the Nigerian music industry’s foremost award program for the celebration of artistic achievement in the music market.

The awards are given to artists who have met unique standards, with the goal of becoming the benchmark for artistic success in the country.
RCN members include TurnTable Charts, the foremost music chart publication in Nigeria, who provide the criteria and metrics for the awards issued, and the founding members of WeTalkSound, the largest music community in the country.
Short Form Video Criteria.
Gold: 2,500 units.
Platinum: 5,000 units.
Multi-Platinum: 10,000 units.
