Nigerian Diva, Simi has reacted to Tems receiving her first Grammy nominations.
At the late hours of yesterday night, the Recording Academy announced the nominees for its 202 Grammy Awards and Tems alongside Wizkid, Burna Boy, Femi Kuti and Made Kuti were the representing Nigerian artists to receive nominations.
Tems‘ nomination falls in the category of Best Global Music Performance thanks to her collaboration with Wizkid on “Essence”
The singer who sonorously took up the chorus has been a global sensation since the tune made a global impact.
Meanwhile, Wizkid was nominated for the Best Global Music Album and Best Global Music Performance at the 2022 Grammy Awards.
Femi Kuti and his son Made Kuti was also nominated for the 2022 Grammy Awards for their double album ‘Legacy +‘.
The duo was nominated in the “best global music album” category alongside Nigerian counterpart Wizkid, legendary Beninese singer-songwriter, Angélique Kidjo, and two other acts.

Away from the double nomination, Femi Kuti also bagged an individual nomination in the “Best Global Music Performance” category alongside Wizkid, Tems, Angélique Kidjo, Burna Boy and two others for his song Pà Pá Pà.
Tems reacting to the news of her nomination dropped two emojis on Twitter showcasing her surprise and happiness.
In response, Simi quoted her tweet and tagged the moment as ‘Queen shit’, adding that everyone is proud of the singer.
