Disliking the comparisons, Shatta Wale attacks Sarkodie’s rap.
Controversial Ghanaian artist Shatta Wale recently voiced his opinion on Sarkodie’s rap style, expressing his discontent with comparisons to the renowned rapper and Stonebwoy.
Shatta likened such comparisons to equating primary school students with those in junior high, emphasizing his frustration with being compared to his “juniors” in the industry
Shatta Wale angrily said, “And the people you are comparing me to, it is like I dey JHS 3 and you dey compare me to class 4 and it is stupid. Somebody will ask why is Shatta Wale talking like this. Why am I talking like this? Why do you even have to compare Stonebwoy to me, why do you compare Sarkodie to me? I came out 2004 when Sarkodie used to call me and tell me that he wanted a producer, I was a star before Sarkodie and Stonebwoy”.
He went on to say that while he had no issues with Samini’s comparisons in the past, Ghanaians were forced to compare him to his juniors, Stonebwoy and Sarkodie, since Samini is no longer in the system and is still a successful singer.
“I came out before all those your last champions. Sarkodie and Stonebwoy them be your last champions wey you cath. You, people, take me to compare Samini and others, all of them dey go right now ebi Sarkodie and Stonebwoywey you guys get. Dem bi your last batch, dem bi your last batch you get it.
Speaking of Sarkodie, Shatta Wale claims that his lyricism is incomprehensible.
The dancehall performer claims to have listened to a lot of songs that discuss the life of an individual, particularly one who lives on the streets.
Shatta claims that Sarkodie’s songs are ridiculous, drawing a comparison between them and a song he claims he chanced upon on Tiktok.
Shatta Wale believes that Sarkodie concentrates more on speaking quickly, but in reality, no one pays attention to what he says in his songs.
He pointed out that there is nothing to connect the rapper’s few tracks that fans and Ghanaians may listen to.
