Ghanaian dancehall musician, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, better known as Shatta Wale, has been detained by the Ghana Police Service.
Shatta Wale was arrested on Monday, October 18, 2021, for fabricating reports that he was shot by unknown assailants.
The Ghana Police Service verified the arrest on its social media channel on October 19th, 2021, and added that more information on the arrest of the heavyweight Ghanaian singer will be revealed.
Shatta Wale has previously orchestrated a prank after claiming he was shot by unknown shooters, for which he later apologised to his supporters and those who were affected.

According to the dancehall king, he was behind the false alarm after stealing his team members’ phones and using them to spread false information.
In light of the incident, the Ghana Police Service has detained Shatta Wale’s Public Relations Manager, Kojo Owusu Koranteng, popularly known as Nana Dope, and Eric Venator, better known as Gangee, on charges of inciting public fear and panic.
Recall that Mp3bullet.ng reported that Shatta’s PA, Nana Dope had taken to snap chat to report that his boss was shot.
Nana claimed that Shatta was hospitalized following the incident and asked fans to pray for him.
He also pleaded that videos of the incident shouldn’t be circulated.
