Budding musician Crown Uzama, professionally known as Shallipopi, has shared a personal story about how hunger motivated him to strive for financial success. Shallipopi revealed that there was a time when he was so broke that he had to drink garri (a popular Nigerian staple made from cassava) for 10 consecutive days. It was during this challenging period that he began contemplating his life and future.
The singer opened up about this experience during an interview on the Turntable podcast with hip-hop artist Odumodublck. When asked about the extreme incident that fueled his determination to succeed, Shallipopi mentioned the period of financial struggle and hunger, emphasizing that it was a turning point that motivated him to work hard towards achieving success in life.
“Make you just taste garri for like 10 straight days, then you go rethink your life. You go blow by force,” the 23-year-old singer said.

In other news, Shallipopi has revealed how he spent his first music earnings. The artist, who gained prominence with his viral hit song “Elon Musk,” shared in a recent interview with Turntable, hosted by rapper Odumodublvck, that he used his earnings to order the services of sex workers, referred to as “oscroh” in street slang.
Odumodublvck asked, “When Elon Musk blow, wetin be the first thing wey you buy?”
Shallipopi replied, “I chop ham na, normal. I used ham order oscroh [sex workers].”
