Shallipopi records second appearance on Billboard’s US Afrobeats Songs Chart.
Nigerian fast-rising street-pop artist Shallipopi has recorded his second appearance on Billboard’s US Afrobeats Songs Chart.
Shallipopi has been captivating audiences since the release of his breakout hit tune ‘Elon Musk,’ which brought him to the mainstream as an artist poised to integrate his Edo cultural origins into Street music.
In the latest instalment of the Billboard US Afrobeats Song Chart (Chart week – July 29, 2023), Rema‘s ‘Calm Down’ continues its impressive domination as it extends its record stay at the top to 47 weeks.
The second place is still held by Libianca’s “People,” followed by Tems‘ “Free Mind” at No. 3, Wizkid’s “Essence” remix at No. 4, and J Hus‘ “Who Told You” with Drake at No. 5.
‘Last Last‘ and ‘Sittin’ On To Of The World‘ by Burna Boy remain at Nos. 6 and 7, respectively.
Rush by Ayra Starr is replaced by CKay’s “Love Nwantiti” at No. 8 while Rush falls to No. 9, and Fireboy’s “Peru” with Ed Sheeran remains at No. 10.
This week’s debuts include Jon Baptiste’s “Drink Water” featuring Jon Bellion & Fireboy at No. 16, Oxlade’s “Intoxicated” with Dave at No. 26, J Hus‘ “Militerian” with Naira Marley at No. 28 and “Masculine” with Burna Boy at No. 31.
‘Obapluto’ by Rising Street-pop sensation Shallipopi debuts at NO. 45 which is his second entry after ‘Ex Convict’ which debuted at NO. 26 last week.
