Seun Kuti has reacted to Pope Francis’ assertion that sex outside of marriage is not the worst sin.
After Pope Francis remarked that sex outside marriage is not the most serious sin, Seun Kuti, the son of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti, had a lot to say.
During a question-and-answer session aboard a flight from Greece to Italy on Monday, the clergyman revealed this.
The pope had remarked that the sins of the flesh were not the most important when asked about Archbishop of Paris Michel Aupetit’s “ambiguous” relationship with a woman.
In response to the pope’s pronouncement, the artist has urged ladies to forgive their husbands when they cheat on them, as well as husbands to forgive when the same is done to them.
He said: “So wives forgive your husband but more importantly, husbands forgive your wives.”

Seun Kuti also referred to the Catholic Church leader as a “bad boy”.
In the comment, the musician addressed those who were disagreeing with his statement.
He wrote;
“All those disagreeing. Gather here. First u are mostly men and u don’t want to forgive ur wives. Secondly. I never knew sins were graded. From bad to worst. So now that we know sins of the flesh, adultery included isn’t the worst which simply means ‘not as bad as the worst’ we should also not treat people who indulge in it as the worst of people. Yes or no? So we should forgive them easily , yes or no?”
