Afrobeats singer Seun Kuti has reacted publicly after Wizkid referred to him as a “fool at 40,” further escalating their ongoing social media feud.

The online space has remained heated over the past few hours following Wizkid’s decision to break his silence and respond aggressively to Seun Kuti, who has repeatedly criticised the singer and his fan base, Wizkid FC, for weeks.
Seun Kuti, son of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, has consistently expressed anger at Wizkid FC for branding Wizkid as the “New Fela,” describing them as the most ignorant fan base.
He has also accused Wizkid of lacking spiritual depth in his music and claimed that Wizkid FC cannot fill stadiums in the same way as Davido’s 30BG or Burna Boy’s Outsiders.
On January 20, 2025, Wizkid responded forcefully via his social media pages, launching personal attacks at Seun Kuti.
The Grammy-winning singer described Seun as a “hungry bastard,” insulted his wife, and went as far as claiming he is bigger than Seun’s late father, Fela Kuti.
In response, Seun Kuti fired back, mocking Wizkid’s height and warning both the singer and his fans to stop attaching themselves to his father’s legacy.
He also addressed the viral mockery of Fela’s trousers—popularly referred to online as “Pata gigan”—revealing that Ecobank reportedly spent millions of naira to showcase the outfit, countering claims meant to ridicule his father.
Seun Kuti wrote:
“Just be yourself, short man. You are also great, u go delete now, u no get mind, who is the pussy now beech.”
He further escalated the situation by making allegations about Wizkid’s personal life, including a controversial claim involving embattled American rapper Diddy.
As the exchange continues to unfold, reactions remain divided online, with fans of both artists trading words and calling for calm. Neither party has shown signs of backing down, keeping the feud firmly in the public eye.
