Seun Kuti Slams Those Accusing Him of Betraying VDM Following Apology to Femi Falana
Nigerian musician Seun Kuti has responded to critics who accused him of betraying activist Verydarkman after he issued an apology to Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Femi Falana.
The accusations arose after Seun publicly apologized to Falana, which led some individuals on social media to lash out, claiming he had betrayed Verydarkman.
Seun took to his Instagram page to address the backlash. In his reaction, he expressed frustration, stating that he would not allow people to use his life for entertainment.
He emphasized that Nigerians seem to be looking for someone to mislead or drag into unnecessary conflicts.
Defending his actions, Seun clarified that his apology to Falana did not equate to betrayal, as he never had any intention of fighting him. He went on to say, “You people are so stupid. Na who una go kee una dey find. I have banned Verydarkman from telling me about his stories,” making it clear that he had decided to distance himself from the drama.

Recall, Seun Kuti clarified his relationship with online activist Verydarkman, amidst the ongoing controversy involving popular crossdresser Bobrisky and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Seun, the son of legendary musician Fela Kuti, addressed the situation, explaining that he has no control over Verydarkman’s actions.
He revealed that while Verydarkman had informed him of Bobrisky’s alleged bribe involving the EFCC, he did not have prior knowledge of the leaked audio call or its contents. Seun emphasized that he was not involved in the decision to expose the conversation.
“I didn’t have any say in how Verydarkman interpreted or shared the clip,” Seun explained. “Even if I had tried to stop him, he wouldn’t have listened.”
